Thread: Krayt and NightSister Killing Template Advice

I hate to ask, and I do not mean to hijack the thread, but this is something I have wondered for awhile. What is the fascination everyone seems to have with soloing everything? I go hunting with my guildmates 2-3 times a week, 4-6 toons,a good mix of ranged, melee, and healers. No one ever dies, incapps (except for stun baton wielding NS Elders), and the mobs die really fast. Any loot taken is given to the guildmember that can best use it. We all accomplish something as a group, and if no great loot drops we got to play together for awhile and have fun. Walking around alone looking for tough things to kill just to spend 15-20min to an hour soloing ONE thing really does not seem like too much excitement to me.

So I suppose I would have to say, for a build best for killing high end mobs: Master your profession, make some friends, then go take on the high-end stuff, the reward to risk ratio is much higher I garuntee.

(Yes, my other toon is a rifleman)

The reason most people want to solo things, especially large, dangerous game is because they want to be like the greatest of all solo hunters. . .

I want to see a solo monkey take down a krayt or elder as fast as a good team. Guess what ? It aint gona happen.

Blackpool:

To answer your question I have been both Master Rifle and now sword. A master rifleman teamed with a swordsman is the way to go. If solo hunting is your bag then I suggest going sword. Conceal shot can and will sometimes either miss or cause a small bleed on your target. If this happens on a high end mob life could suck for you when they aggro.

Swordsman has intimidate, center of being, and most importantly incredible damage over time. Combined with doctor you can remove stun, intimidate, dizzy from yourself and drop stim Es on your head.

If you like to solo: sword/doc

If you work with a partner or team NOTHING beats rifleman. A rifleman left alone to do their thingis the most deadly thing in the game.

I agree that a good group will always beat a soloer, but there's all kinds of reasons why folks are soloing. Some do it just to see if they can, others can't find any guildies to get together with to group up with, or others just prefer to hunt solo and get bored with lower level content. I've found myself bored and at the krayt graveyard tanking a krayt using fencer skills and dots just for fun to see if I can kill it before it despawns. A group came along and attempted to KS me - I let them tank for me and used the krayt T21 to beat them to looting rights...and loved the hate tells I got when they got the message, "You do not have access to that corpse." But, I still agree that being able to solo all the high end content in the game detracts from gameplay.

Ive been both Master Swordsman and Rifleman. Sowrdsman is the single best porfession for PvE. THere is NOTHING you can not kill, while rifleman are limited to certain types of Nightsisters.

I was also Doc/Swords, which to this day was the best PvE template Ive ever had

i disagree... Commando is the single best prof for end game PvE... you can't have MDoc though, all i have is medic 1.0.0.0... the only thing i fear is when those witches pull out a stun baton, i just cut my losses and run then... the burns go though everything...

but the reason so many ppl like to solo is because we can... its really the only chance PvE we have of dieing in the current state of the game... my template is MCommand/MSmuggler, that leaves me with about 0 defences against anything... i have FD but very rarely need to use it other than to get the sun baton weilding witches off me...

its not that i don't like to group, but finding a good group can be hard... bad groups ruin the gaming experiance for me... alone i know that someone else isn't gonna get me killed by bringing a hoard of witches down on me, or something along those lines... plus things like the vette, i like to know first that i can do it solo, cause i'm usually the one leading the groups for these type of things... it the same concept as me ruining the gaming experiance for them... so groups are somethimes harder to do things with... there can be argueing over loots, the wait time for everyone to get where they need to be, and a bunch of other little things... if i'm out cooking a dragon and someone i know sends me a tell i'll always invite them to join me, it doesn't matter to me about the loot, i've ogt enough of it... or what profs they have, its fun to watch a MTailor/MArtisan/Marksman pistols 4/some medic and scout help out, but they are usually really stoked to be out there and listen well to my directions...

but to make things faster killing give me 2 ppl a MDoc/MSwords, and a MRifle/MCM, (i'd go with MSL/Commando 0/0/4/0)and anything short of the DWB is pretty easy to take down in less than 5 mins and its alot of fun with the mass slaughter...

This may be a stupid question, but how does a Master Rifleman/M Doc kill a Giant Krayt without Conceal Shotting?

80% comp, buffs and drop E stems on yourself, cure dizzy packs, and if he's smart he'll have novice brawler and spam intimidate... you won't spend much time on your back that way... then HS spam... its not that hard really, and takes alot less time than conceal shot...

Hey BP =)

Well you already know my template. I can take a Juvenile in well under 5 mins, a giant in about 20 mins and an ancient in about 40 mins. I kill the juvi using headshot3, the others are stacking health poisons and using advanced strafe. You can still retain buffing, but you can't craft your own buffs and you can only use 90 med use buffs.

IMHO the reason anyone would want to solo anything is because they have grouped with to many loot hogs. I have had several experiences with many different people who run a loot macro. I am a master Rif/Doc. I stay back at a distance (safer and less damaging) only to have to peace out, run up into the action and heal whoever is toe to toe with the target, heal them, go back to my safe place only to have them loot every dang kill.

I had a person do this to me a couple of weeks ago. I finally got fed up and said have a good one Im off and running. They sent me a tell and it was the icing on the cake. The tell was "quick, get over here and heal me I am fighting 2 elders and wanna live to loot them." I mean how stupid are some people?

*feels sympathy for a good player... *

What a jerk that guy was - fortunately I haven't run into to many loot hogs (I have otoh run into kill stealing groups >_< ) and I usually hunt with my younger brother and Rl friends.
