No, judge a mob by its HP. When you click on it, hold your mouse over the HAM bar. It tells you the HP. At this point you can tell if fighting it is worth theXP you will be getting.

You guys have it all wrong, 125k riffle xp is nothing. You will have closer to 300,000 riffle xp before you get 40,000 combat experience required for classes like Bounty Hunter and other Elite Classes. Be thankful it is not 40,000 combat for riffleman, carboneer, and pistoleer.

The easy way to go to get novice rifleman i have found is like Branu mentioneddefinietly wolf kimas on talus, they are very common, do not swarm, and are well, slow..1200 rifle xp-178 scouting xp a pop, i just discovered them today, and got about 70000 exp in about8 hours of gameplayto get my novice rifleman rank.

Ahh Talus, my home planet, and what also seems the home planet of my favorite creature - The Kima.

Go for the Wolf Kima, they are the ones that give you 1.3K xp per kill. Normal Kimas only give you 1K or so.

A tip though, go to Talus, do missions, and when you come across a pack of kimas go for it, but dont just do kimas, cause they are slow and boring and not much of a challange, unless you do what i did and layprone when you attack the "dead log" and shot it around 15 times. Kimas are pertty tough when they are around10 of em after you. Dodging had a whole new skill tree after that little mishap. Still, i think i got arounf 15K xp for around 20mins work, or something like that, was to busy to really notice.

As for the xp to become a Rifleman, while i think it is large i dont think it is massive either, it is if you just stick to paralopes, i think i get around 50xp per kill, but geez they are easy missions to do for some quick credits. Get involved in killing some imps or rebels and if you are good enough you can get 1.5k xp of em while having "some excitment" at the same time. And yeah be grateful it is weapons XP and not combat XP. They are a nightmare.

Im going for squad leader and i think you need something like 50k of Combat XP before you can become Novice Suqad Leader, and then it sucks, cause as i novice SL all you can do is talk to your party all at once, thats it, nothing else until you get intermediate!!
