hi

i got rifle 4 and weapons support 4. since i plan to be all rifle, i really dont want to spend points on carbine and pistol if i can avoid it.

so as soon as i got the skills up, i went to the marksman trainer to trainthe Master Marksman skill. Trainer there is "nothing he can teach me now"

the aprenticeship xp req is 600 points. i have 920. so what gives ?

in order to becoem rifleman i have to have the master marksman skill1st correct ? so do i actually absolutely have to train all 3 weapon types in order to get the master marksman skill or no ?

if not, what am i doing wrong, i meet the xp requirement, i meet the aprenticeship requirement, what else is there ? how precisely do i become a rifleman ? is there anyway to avoid wasting the time and skill points on pistol and carbine if i want to become a rifleman ? please explain in details.

thanks

In order to get master marksman you would need pistol and carbine 4 also. But you don't need master marksman to get rifleman, all you need is rifle 4, and 125000 rifle exp to qualify for rifleman.

That's right, you just need to get 125,000 more Rifle XP and find the Rifleman Trainer to teach you.

ya i was wondering why riflemen, pistoleers and carbinist have to have liek 125,000xp , when no other class even has half that requirment for xp. I think a dev misplaced a , comma somewhere and it should be like 12,500xp

is it just me or is 125,000xp to get to novice rifleman a little steep? for the whole time ive been playing SWG (1 day after release) ive been using my rifle as my primary weapon. and i have only somewhere between 7,000 and 10,000 total rifle xp. shouldnt it beharder to get a hybrid profession (ie. bounty hunter) than it is to get an elite profession (ie. rifleman)?.. sorry if i got hybrid and elite mixed up. maybe im just doing something wrong...

yeah i kno wut u mean. when the trainer told me that i needed 125,000xp b4 i could get *NOVICE* rifleman. i had to recheck it like 5 times b4 i actualy believed that it sayd 125,000 instead of 12,500. this could really take a while =/

I've been using a rifle since the beginning as well, and I don't do a lot of hunting, but I'm sitting at 35,000 above what it took to get to Rifle 3. I'm half way to Rifle 4 with that, and then I'll keep going. Soon enough, I'll get the 125,000 I need. It'll be about a month, but I'll get there.

Its not even THAT hard.. Im a Master Artisan, Novice Weaponsmith(with 2 skill boxes) I run several harvesters and do alot of missions to get money for them(I cant sell ore, need to powercraf), AND I am a novice rifleman. It wasn't even hard to get. I've been playing for a week now. Though, you could say Im "powergamer" with the 15-18 hours a day I play. Heh..Well.. Im half way to intermed. sniping accuracy(taking that tree first) and then Im thinking if I want to take ranged support 4 or just go for the rifleman combat exp thingie...

I hunt crazed durni lairs on my way from rifle specialist to novice rifleman. It's about 8k rifle xp per trip (4k per lair) so 16 or so hunting trips. It seems like a reasonable level of challenge to me, so far.

Find the right mobs, and you will do fine. Heres a tip, dont judge a mob by its con. Judge it by its HP. When you click on a mob, hold your mouse over the HAM bar. It will say the HP of the mob, at that point you can tell whether or not you can kill it. So do you average dmg, and decide how many shots it would take. and if you miss run.

If you want fast Xp head to Tatooine and get a group to go to Fort Tusken. If you do low damage you'll start getting 90-200 xp and sometimes 500 or 600. Once you get a decent weapon you can get 1000-2000 xp per kill.

Where are rifleman trainers at? I can't find one in Coronet, and don't feel like randomly shuttleing around and running around towns hoping there's a rilfeman trainer, and that I can find him/her.

The 125k is steep but i managed to get it all on a saturday. Someone said don't judge a mob by it's con, this is true, judge it by it's movement speed. You can kite kimas very easily and never get touched for 1.3k per kill. Also I was getting about 180 scout xp and 30 hides not bad for about 2 minutes of safe work.

Also on the fact that other classes need half the xp, look at bounty hunter, that's 40k xp but that's combat xp which means you need 400,000 weapon xp, ugh.
