Thread: Controlled Accuracy test
I want to add a few things.
I spent lastnight, and the better part of this night using a DLT20a, ok stop laughing at keep reading, Max damage is 309 with power up and it uses 25 mind per hit.
What I have found out is it is awsome against un armored targets, the best weapon to date. There is 2 reasons: One is obvious the HAM use. I am still hitting 200-400 Head shots, and 300-500 Strafe Shot 2's. The secound reason and it surprised the hell out of me is its accuracy. It is night a day between a 20a and T21. I rarely miss and at 25 mind cost base it doesnt matter even when I do.
Now where does that leave us? We still have to use a weapon that can hit armored targets and those weapons have at best a 50% chance to hit. If this is what the Devs invisioned I am cool with it, just hope that everyone keeps running around with no armor, cause I am loving this n00b 20a!
By the way eye shot aint nothing now, well as long as the person isnt wearing a helmet.
Also killedthe sameMaster Comando twice today with the trusty 20a, he couldnt hit me at range with his Flame Thrower.
I'm very disappointed after seeing your logs SilverLobo, I too was going for high Ranged D. I still don't see why I should be at a disadvantage to a BH if I spendall my skillpoints on combat.
BH is really looking like the way to go. ![]()
Your results mayhold true in larger tests, but as it is, your sample size is way too small to provide meaningful results. You may have had good, bad, or moderate results in the random number generator which would skew the test a number of ways.
Any test with less then 100 shots doesn't account for the randomness involved. I'm not saying the devshave everything the way it should be with all the skill modifiers working, since I have yet to see that with this game (Rifleman and CH here, all I've been seeing lately is the nerf bat), but you need a much bigger sample to provide any meaningful results.
As for the Bounty Hunter getting Eyeshot in the first place, please take a Louisville Slugger and use it on that skill. I seem to recall the mantra 'Mind damage is the exclusive domain of the rifleman'. Let's have some integrity and keep it that way. Spending health/action to target mind is an outrage as long as we still have huge mind costs to do the same. On the same note, why do our untargetted moves such as the strafe and flushing use mind? Shouldn't those consume action or health? I'm unfamiliar with how other classes work in this regard, but ours should work the same.
