Thread: Controlled Accuracy test
OK, we did both a master, and non-master. I dont have the logs for the non-master, but Ruca does, she will post them later, or send them to me.
It was done with an E11 in both cases, shooting Ruca in order to keep consistancy. We did4 tests, one standing still, one her moving, one shooter moving, and one both moving, We did this at 60m.

I ended up going till out of mind, but the non-master was able to go for 20 shots.

I have some logs, but I didnt have much time before Molimo had to place some harvesters. His stats are as follows:
Level IV BH Pistol, Level II Marksmanship, level 1 Tech, and level 1 stances Pistoleer tree. He had +130 to accuracy and +16 to ranged D. He was using a FWG5 at 50-60 meters depending on the test.
I have +102 Rifle accuracy and +66 ranged D. I used a Jawa Rifle, I know it was a bad choice, but I didnt have much time and didnt want to one shot him possible with the T21 or Laser Rifle. Plus its penality is roughly the same as a FWG5 at range.
The first log is both of us standing still at 60 Meters, he didnt miss once.
Secound log was both of us moving range was 50-60 meters he missed twice out of ten shots.
Last log was me shooting him with both of us moving range was 50-60 meters, I missed 6 out of 10 SS2's.

That's on par with what I'm seeing.
I don't understand why BH's are so incredibly accurate. We fought a BH today that killed me, my little Wrix pet, the doctor that was with me and my friend and my friend's Graping Hunting Spider, all with eyeshots. As far as I could tell he missed once. It costs him nothing to spam Eyeshot -- the base cost is small to begin with, and it's all healable anyway. I was the only one in my group capable of hitting mind, so once I was down the fight was over. He had buffed health and action -- so did we, but it doesn't matter when it's all eyeshots.
We just seem to miss waaaay more often than these lame BH/Pistoleers combos. They're totally outgunning us for doing damage to the pool that WE are supposed to be the best ones at hitting.
I, frankly, do not see the point of being a rifleman now. We serve no role that some other class doesn't do better. No role at all.
On a side note, I was testing with a friend today and noted that Cover really does help in PvP. He went from a near 100% hit ratio to about 60% or so from me taking cover. Too bad it's still useless because NPC's have such a huge accuracy bonus that they rarely miss anyway, and anyone with a brain in PvP will just rush your position.
I was talking to my guildies on Teamspeak during this quick little test and they could hear the disapointment. I wasntto concerned with our miss rate, which was pretty bad. What crushed me was the time I invested in getting such a high Ranged D only to see that it is totally useless. I have made enough weapon xp, and combat xp to master 2 weapons only to find out it was waste.
The problem is that the hybrid BH's have such a high accuracy that the new change to hit doesnt effect them one bit. I cant believe that the Devs would consider someone with as high of a ranged D as myself being hit 100% of the time at 60 meters then 80% of the time moving a working system.
Again I want to stress that I think defenses should work. My problem is only sometemplates are being effected while others are getting a free pass.
Yeah, that's something I've been saying for weeks.
The real problem with BH's is that Ranged Defense doesn't work.
BH's and Commandos get no Ranged Defense. Therefore a rifleman should be significantly harder to hit than a BH or Commando.
But we're not, because Ranged Defense doesn't mean enough. Whatever accuracy it takes off is completely overwhelmed by a glut of accuracy bonuses.

The problem isnt with our accuracy bieng screwed, its our HAM costs, becuase we still use HAM on all our misses. These amount of misses are fine by me, at my speed it doesnt matter much, the problem is HAM still bieng drained when I miss. Causing me to run out of mind even faster then before.
Also if you notice, the non-master rifleman had better accuracy then me, but shot once every 5 seconds compared to my once every second, all except for the both moving, at wich my accuracy was better.

Sigh... as a rifleman, wouldn't it be obvious that we would bethe masters of taking down stationary and moving creatures/people because we've learned the ability to shoot AHEAD of them to make sure we hit the mark? And what about the fact that something running towards us would be an easier mark since as they get closer they get bigger in our targetting scopes?
So much of this makes so little sense from a LOGICAL standpoint.
