Thread: Rifleman and Combat Rebalance

I agree, taking away the ability to spam specials sounds really awful to me right now. I'm trying to grind RifleMan, which has got to be the worst Combat grind there is because CURRENTLY the game shiests all over Ranged Combat.....(and they call this 'Star Wars'..../rolleyes) So if they are going to basically Nerf using specials, then normal damage better be heavily increased. The only way I can make good xp , at the moment, is to get buffed, go to Dant, and Spam /pointblankarea on Bol layers......... But, maybe it will all work out like they say it will......but i'm not holding my breath

Then they say specials will cost time not HAM ... well they already do cost time unless you are speedcapped. So the main thingI want to know is how will rifle speed mod play out in the CU.

wish I could tell you but it is NDA material

NDA is funny, it's not like there's aplethora of Star Wars MMORPG's out there waiting to steal their ideas

I didn't use buffs or uber armour, so why did the combat revamp have to spoil my game?

it's more like deadly serious - we can't even state the terms of the NDA cause that is under NDA (a minor violation to even tell you that ) FORGIVE ME TIGGS T_T

So there's an NDA on the NDA?

Is there any apparent threat/reason for such secrecy?

i believe its okay to have NDA and such... makes the release a bit more exciting... i do hope its not as exciting as publish 12 =). i'm sure the customer service folks are not too happy right now with the number of calls on the crashes.

my point is... NDA great, change rifle speeds - i can live with as long as we know what is coming and have time to react to it with our template, but i hope it doesnt crash like this release. can you imagine waiting for all these changes then to logging on the day of and have it crash.

Here'sa question which may or may not be under the NDA.

I've heard everyone will have a change to chage combat professions if they wish once it's published. Well, can anyone tell me how this helps? Because how will you know which profession to choose if you've never tried them before?

Until the devs say this is true or not no one under the NDA can say.

Actually to expand on that. When under the NDA we have to be very careful to only repeat what the devs say (of course we can highlight I think) in their public posts. If this is true and if the post on it we can confirm or deny based on what they say.

That isn't the reason for the NDA. One thing to remember is that the info right now is only preliminary. It is subject to change based on how it works out in testing. So there is a good chance that a fair amount of the information, if they were to release it now, would be changed as the testing goes on.

The other thing is that the NDA helps the free flow of ideas between those involved.

Hmm, there has to be more to it than that (thinks: paranoid lawyers), but it's not worth us debating is it

Currently we do know of things that mitgate this... but as it is NDA I could not reply in a meaningful manner

Thanks for saying that much. I look forwards to hearing more. In fact, is there anyway I can get in on the combat revamp testing at this late stage?
