No you don't.
As nexxx says you don't need it. I have never had a brawler skill on live since launch. I don't even have doc. I can do it - takes strategy and timing but it is completely doable. Currently am a Rifleman/CM and I can take down pretty much any krayt excepting Ancients... Ancients require a tank or a desire to waste tons of time. I am sure I could do it if I desired. Otoh Rifleman/Commando = fastests way to kill ancients - light em up(x12) and strafeshot em down and use parwan to run all the time.
Actually it is not completely true I never had brawler... I had it for a while when I was a commando(keep forgetting that prereq)...

hm,without intimidation giants getyou dizzy+kd and the damage will be to much in some cases

as a rule rifleman should never be near enough to be hit with a dizzy kd combo.
you can take antidizzy food that allows you to pretty much never get knocked down as well

Answer: yes, Riflemenshouldn't bother soloing krayts. A better solo-ist is:
Master Brawler/Master Swordsman/Doc 4020.
Dish out the cash for the speed tapes. Heal your states as they hit so you're not stuck dizzy on your back.
Another alternative is:
Master Commando/TKM
Apply the burns, then switch to TKM for tanking. Repeat til it dies. Commando burnsare practically necessary for killing Ancients.
I am a Master Doc/Master Rifleman/Novice Brawler. I can tank krayts while my commando friend takes them down. Or, I can be the primary damage dealer when I find a tank. But, when trying to soloakrayt, I spend too much time healing myself instead of shooting, so it takesfar toomuch time.
In my opinion, groups of 2 are best for hunting big game creatures. That way, you go through the krayts more than twice as fast as if you were hunting solo, and youonly give uphalf of the loot. In the long run, you'll end up with more loot this way.

Rifleman useless for Krayts? I think not! I am a master rifleman, speed capped and accuracy capped, and I do just fine, I can even solo giant canyon krayts. I do have a nice t21 with +800 max damage though, but still, it isn't that what keeps me alive. It is the brandy, vercupti and canape I use to keep me alive. I live off of 80% kinetic composite armor, +1200 dmg healing stim-e's and dizzy state cure packs up the ying-yang.
BTW, I have 0 melee skills at all, I am not even a novice brawler........ I will post a picture of myself soloing a giant canyon.

Just Novice Doc and CM? how much of those profs did you take? Sorry, all the questions, but Im finishing up with Rifleman and want to add in some great support for it so I can do some decent pvp and high lvl hunting. Im a long time carbineer and have always enjoyed ranged weapons over melee, which Ive done extensively too, but I've found I really enjoy the skill of using a rifle.

They are easy to solo as a MR/MF/0040pistol/0040medic
