Being a Mdoc/Mrifle, I decided to start solo hunting Krayts. Seems that this template just doesn't cut it for that task. Am I just doing something wrong? or is there a different template I should try for the krayt hunting biz?

Well you don't have melee mitigation, which makes it a bit harder.. but with some good composite it shouldn't be that hard

It's pretty annoying. But you can kill juvies like no one's buisness.

Yes. Juvvy's are easy, but without Melee Mitigation and Intimidate, you're screwed.

you don't need melee skills but they reduce the difficulty a lot
but as you are a doc
- use parwan cake and the terrain negotiation food
- or group with an SL somewhere on the planet for terrain negotiation and currently the evil that is known as /retreat for a perma burst run
and then you should be fine hunting them.

Yeh a grouped SL helps, but I enjoy doing something with my alt
. I've tried Canyons etc. with Headshot and 90% armor, still don't last longe rthan a minute or two. It's much easier to just have a friend tank for you.

Well my alt is Rifles\Doc and doesn't have any problem solo'ing canyons.
His template is
MasterRifles
Doc 4-4-4-0
Novice Brawler
Scout 1-0-0-0
Get the best Kinetic Armour you can - I have 84% Helm and Chestand 80-90% Gloves and Boots, I only wear the cheater suit so I am guessing I would be taking even less damage with a full suit on.
Dance and Music Buffs are a must, this way you dont have to drink brandy and can save the space for blue milk to heal you mind if its getting hammered. I pop a couple of Ahrisa to make sure I am not losing any mind from my specials - and keep a muon there in case of emergencies.
Keep a couple of Stim E's in the toolbar - as you will need to heal quite a lot. Maybe some Stun Stims as well, as you do less damage when stunned - and I believe this is the only state a Canyon will put on you.
Then its just intimidate and Headshot3 all the way with a T21. Take me about 10-15mins or so to take out a Canyon - and I can usually handle a Juvie at the same time if it spawns or gets agro'd - just switch to a DXR6 and take it out as quickly as possible.
I am speed capped, and also have +25 Melee Defencefrom Attachments and BE clothing -I am pretty sure I could do it without the Melee Defence extras though.
Just be careful not to use any area attacks because there might be an ancient nearby - use the bleed and draw method if there is a Ancient or Giantnearby and keep your bike handy.

You need novice brawler, plain and simple, without initimidate you can't keep up with healing even at master doc. I solo'ed giant canyon with doc/rifle template, but had nov brawler.

no, novice brawler isnt necessary at all. neither is doc.
my temp (MBH/rifles medic 1000) can solo canyons afk (set headshot macro, return in 10mins). i can tank a canyon and juvie simultaneously without problems either. my routine is: kill juvie, start on canyon, kill juvies as they spawn.
the average damage done to my by the canyons are 60-80 per hit (not intimidated, obviously
