yes and that why we arent nukers atm against things like krayt DPS is better than Damage for a whole 7 seconds, they dont take 7 second to take down, of course you wont always be killing things like krayt etc, but its kind of sad that are special are too expensive now to get enough out and keep doing it. also the warm up and cool down of sniper shot is just nasty long.

We are too nukers....

Rifleman are desinged to stay in a fixed location, with a good LOS to a target. Other professions take care of close range and keep the Rifleman from getting attacked.

Its up to the Rifleman to figure out what attack to use and when to do the most damage while generating the least amount of aggro..and this IS possible!

Im my example I was grouped w/ a Carbine Specialist and a TKM. I was able to spend the whole fight on my belly in the prone postion, firing..how?

A. Learn how to use a Master Assist! dont know what that is? Designate someone o be the guy who chosses the target, and all of you fire at his target rather than firing at multiple targets. THis is also a case where a Squad Leader adding the ability to Volley Fire makes a Rifleman group exceptionally deadly. If you all fire willy nilly or manually target you waste time and DPS. All you have to do to assist is to target the designated master assist in your group and fire. Your shots will automatically be fired at HIS target, no targeting effort on your part required.

1. Dont use your high damage specials until the mob is at least 50% health. Stick to speacials like Kneecapshot and placed shot, and your normal attack. Dont Sniper or headshot yet. You may toss in startle shot intermittantly but do so sparingly (best used follwing a KD).

2. Watch the tank and the carbineer wait for him to finish his special before launching yours..that way he builds more aggro before you do. Also, wait for a KD before using a high power special. The mob will be laying on the ground, with a higher chance to hit, and by the time it gets back on its feet, the tank has aggro.

3. When you get to around the 30% mark, go ahead and open up..at this stage, a single sniper shot can often finish off the mob. Use that long wind up attack as a finisher, not as an opener. If the mob is still up, use headshot for the coup'de grace.

This DOES work, and a rifleman can totally avoid aggro and still be the most significant damage dealer but you do this not by being the one who spams the most specials, you get this by using your attacks at the most opportune time.

also, the Rifleman "Triangle of Death" and "Wall of Death" works VERY well. The triangle works best against single targets and the wall best against multiple.

I did a Wall of Death with 5 Riflemen vs a herd of CL 80 Grondas (about 15 groundas from that spawn). We were dropping them faster than they could respawn with little injury to ourselves. All a Wall of Death is, are a group of Rifleman lined up side to side walking the same direction firing non-stop (like in a Western movie). As long as you all fire at the same target, you drop the mobs nearly instantly.
