Thread: Rifleman in PVP

sorry, i got distracted and forgot the original question. Typical.


Usually, get damage in the 400s.Sometimesget over 500 with the big guns but I prefer smaller, faster, less draining ones so 200-300 are more common.

Hi,
I'm currently a 2/1/0/1 Rifleman and Master Weaponsmith on Naritus. A player city outside of Moenia, Naboo called upon our guild for backup in defending their city from 2 or 3 Imperial PAs who were raiding the place. There about 50 of us Rebels patrolling the outskirts of the city looking for blue dots (covert imps). When the order was given, we all fell back to the city's 3 rebel detachement HQs. I arrived right when the Imps did. I targeted the first Imp I saw who wasn't wearing armor, and went for Headshot3. I did a measly 480 damage using my adv. T21 150-470/7.7spd Rifle, at which point I came under fire. I switched to my 5.3 speed adv. Laser rifle to get off my next shot, when I was immediately knocked down with a Charge shot from a carbineer. I cloned, ran back to the battle, and the same thing happened.


My question: what can I do to increase my chances of success in PvP, and what weapon would you recommend for a PvP-oriented Rifleman?

Rifleman (even at master) have no KD defense and little dizzy defense, which means if you're hit with both you're dead. My recommendation is to go up a tree that does give you some kind of defense, or if you're lucky find skill tapes that will help you from this. Try looking at the pistol techniques 4, which gives you Def Vs KD +50, along with other defense mods on that entire tree.

From my experience right now the defensive mods come into play regardless of the weapon equipped. This will probablybe changing with the upcoming combat system patch.

Rule 1, PVPing before master = one less Rifleman.

Rule 2, PVPing at master = Many fewer combat professions.


Remember these rules and you'll do fine

Lol just pick up TKM and you won't have to worry about getting hit at all.

One solution is to get doctor with rifleman. Try.....


/ui action clearCombatQueue;

/healState self dizzy;

/stand;


the cure for the common Dizzy/KD. Spam two to of these and call me in the morning. Of course you need to have curestate dizzy stims on ya.


Id take a sure fire cure over a chance to evade anyday....

I would highly recommend not to go PVP till you master rifleman. It will save you the headache of constant KD, dizzy, stun.

Rifleman gets much better in pvp at master levels, now i can take on about 10 rebels at a time and usually take down at least 7 of them, helps to get damage sliced weapons, or prenerf t21's. It's fun to one shot rebels.

I could be wrong, but I think that the defense mods for the pistoleer tree only work if the pistol is equipped. Or is that only for dodge, counterattack type defenses?

when they are done with the combat revamp the defensive mods will no longer stack together so going up the pistol or tka or whatever tree to get defenses for use with rifles will no longer work. i suggest not doing that now because by the time you get there everything will change and you will have to once again re-work your skills.
