What is the max damage in PVP that a rifleman can do? And what good is COVER or SNEAK in PVP?

Being in cover is supposed to make you harder to hit in ranged combat, at the cost of increased melee damage.

Sneak just lets you stay in cover and move. Without sneak. you have to stand up to move after taking cover.

Holocron has admitted that cover bonuses should probably be increased.

What about max damage? I guess our skill comes into area effect damage then, right?

I'm not very experienced in PVP. Just had my first engagement two days ago. A commando jumped me with a flame thrower. I was able to burst run, weave through buildings while landing a mind DOT, healed self a bit, then landed a single aimed head shot for somewhere along the lines of 390 or 430 damage (don't recall which, was shaking at the time =) ), as reported by the combat window. I'm not even sure the DOT actually got around to hittinghim or not. I'm guessing so, since I was the one who ended up doing the deathblow.

I know a single instance does not a sample make, but there it is.

This was a T-21 with max damage of 420. Sliced for damage (20% or so) and powered up with Max Dam 33.15%/ Min Dam 16.33%/Max Range Modifier 8.4%.

I wonder what the best combination is durning PVP. Best shots to use and with what weapon. I've got all the modules top of the line made materials with krayt componets, so I'm currently testing for an elite reciepe. Might cut some corners if we can all chip in on it.

With pre-nerf T21 I do about 400 damage in PVP, 800 on one hit once in a while, but it's rare. My BH friend I hunt with does 700-1200 per hit with LLC, 130-150 per hit with Scatter pistol spamming eye shot. My commando buddy I hunt with does, lol, you prolly dont even wanna know what the commando hits for, but let's put it this way, it's way higher than 1500 a pop.

These are all PVP numbers.

i got hit with a rifle today for over 600.. biggest hit i ever saw from a rifle.

i'm doing rifleman/commando so i was asking my friend who is a master rifleman to see if he could one shot me. he can't at all..but he was doing the 600s consistently.. so he can defenitely 2 shot me. that's with a laser rifle i believe. so his damage isn't as consistent as our very short test period made it seem..

I can usually hit for around 500 with headshot3 and my T21. But the mind drain is so heavy with the T21. I usualy just use a muon gold when PvPing, also this helps with the eyeshot spam. But max damage isn't always what I go for. There are other skills that are extremely helpful in pvp. Can't think of the name, the stun shot is extremely useful. Usually switch to E11 for these shots as it doesn't take much mind per shot

that screenshot shows 15 shots and 3 misses, I thought Rifleman were complaining about accuracy....WHY? I have used Pistol and Carbine at Master level and I would say that is about the same if not better with Rifle.

Spraystick has faster attack and lower mind cost, right?

So, if you used a T21 or laser rifle wirth high damage mods to inflict a bleed, then changed to spraystick with damage mods and spammed mind shot, you could probably kill your target very quickly?

Just speculation.

I regret taking up rifleman at this point..... If I wanted to go GUNGHO I would have went Commando. I picked Rifleman because I thought I could actully "camp" or "snipe" in PVP. :CRY

I'm 4/0/1/3

In 1 v 1 PvP I usually go for a MindShot2 then Mindshot1 with a T21 or laser then switch to a spraystick and work on their mind while kiting. Usually takes 2 bleed cycles to drop someone and I keep high health/action and regen rates so usually they can't take me down faster than I can get them.If they do get me, the bleeds usually will incap them before they can DB.

In groups I tend to target anyone that starts healing and hit them hard to the mind. Otherwise, flurry and flushing shots generally.

Basically, the best advise is to know the opponents weakness and what will help your group the best.
