I haven't done the math for those pesky 90% ancient canyon krayt dragons. They are only 35% cold, which could make up for it in my case. In the past I've still gone T21, but you do give new hope for a possible use for the dusty SG82.

Against a Krayt Ancient my SG82 would do 1.4634146341463416 Avg Dmg/Sec, my Laser (normally my most powerful) would do 1.3043478260869565 and my T-21 would do 2.0754716981132075. My other heavy hitter, my DX2, only gets 0.5263157894736842 and 4/5 of my other weapons aren't even on the charts.

higher AP or dmg it might get used, but AP3 makes up for 99% of situations. I've even done the math for Mokks and my T21 is still better unfortunately. Ancient Krayts have AR3. The SG82 is AP0. Which means the SG82 is doing 12.5% damage just from that. Factor in the 35% resists and you are only doing 8.25% damage.

The T21 is AP3. Which even with the 90% resist means you are doing 10% damage.

You're better off by far with the T21 in that example. Since the T21 also has a higher min/max damage it is by far the better choice.

I use my lower damage rifles like the SG82 when I am out with friends who are trying to level a combat profession and I don't want to take all their XP. I use eithe my SG82 or my DXR-6 because they look different and they aren't blasting a hole in everything like the T21 does

exactly what I was going to suggest ^_^ I always switch to lower damage guns when hunting in group especially if i am teaching tactics. The SG82 is also great for use in pvp - does next to no damage but when the target first gets hit with the blue bolt they usually scatter fast cause it is something that they usually don't see when under attack (with the delay this tactic is kinda rendered useless - oh well)

It is fun for hunting rebel npc's with but still has a lower damage threshold then most of your guns. - I think more things should be cold vulnerable (especially on tattooine) cause currently cold damage = not very useful at all

Same here. Was out with a friend lvling and made the mistake of using adv strafe2 with my T21. Heh needless to say, he didn't get much xp of the spawn hehe. I'm trying to find a better use forSG82 but haven't found one yet.

I swear at least half the SWG community think the tusken is Kinetic.

You can get the Tusken King's Rifle by doing missions for a certain Hutt on Naboo quest, and yes it does have kinetic damage type. However, afaik not even a Master Rifleman is certified to use it, so as it is it's just nice to hang on your wall until you find another use for it (hint hint).
