Combat logs show unmodified damage, the numbers over the creatures head shows the damage after armor and resists.

To the guy who said Master Rifleman is uber and no other prof is: Well, I guess you havent watched a MHS with spd cap attachments anda Acklay hammer go to town and solo a Krayt.

one other thing as an example of how AP works not sure the exact figures but the principle is the same.
a laser that does 500 damage on a AP3 target will take a 50% hit to its damage reduceing it to 250 damage. a T21 taht does 400 damage on a AP3 target doesnt take a hit and does the full 400 outdamaging the laser even though the laser has a higher displayed damage. for a laser to equal a T21 on a AP3 target they basically have to do twice the damage. to be better they have to do at least 2.1 times the damage of a T21. i dont see too many 800 base damage laser rifle running around. (figures arent exact just using em off the top of my head but the general principle is what im getting at)
pretty much same case applies to the DXR6b. altho in the interest of fairness stun damage and resists can be a factor for the use of the dxr6b. but a laser has the same damage type as a T21. the only time a laser would be a more useful weapon to a master than a T21 is when the creature is vulnerable to energy.

like he said, they were using T21's, so the "weapon type" explanations don't apply.
I don't know, man.. we'd need to see the combat logs to be sure. maybe they had a couple of guys outside the range of your combat logging. don't know.

Here is a bit of conjecture. But perhaps it works similarly to XP gain. For example lets say a pistoleer and a rifleman are both autoattacking a creature. We could say that the one that does the most damage gets the most xp from the creature. However... if the pistoleer only works on damaging health, and the rifleman only works on damaging mind, as long as they hit they're xp cap or 60% line on whatever ham they are working on they get full xp.
Now apply this to looting rights. Perhaps it's whoever would get the most XP per se out of it, would be the ones that did the most damage to the krayt. Not in terms of overall damage across 3 ham bars, but the most damage to any given ham bar.
Or stated differently assume all 3 HAM bars are judged by it's lowest ranking member as far as loot rights go. So in essencecalculating damage dealt by adding the total damage from all 3 ham bars would be an incorrect perception of what is going on.

I've heard before that the way looting rights are determined between groups is based on the single player that does the most damage. That player's group get's looting rights.

Can anyone comment on this? Confirm/deny?

the person/group to get the DB hit on the critter gets looting rights tis a loot bug. for example a group of 30 MRM are pounding a ancient krayt and a dancer wanders up and punches it for 1 point of damage but that punch was the punch that killed the krayt. she gets looting rights. sucks but it seems pier1 wook armour and useless lithium(however its spelled) rifles are more important than bug fixing.

I dont think that is necessary, if you go and test it out for yourself I think you will find that it is true. Until I read it on this forum, I just assumed that this was the case. You will notice it especially at fort tusken. I would say that about 8 kills out of ten, the toon that lands the death blow gets the looting rights.

Don't think this is true -- it's always been damage output. You probably lost to a group with a CM. A single CM can stack tons of poison on a Krayt.
He can stack18poisons in about 90s for a total of about 735 DPS, a third of which goes to the actual pool used to kill it. If he's also a rifleman, he can also dish out another 500-600 dps while the poisons tick.
