I posted a thread about how the AI makes the SOE defined "tank" classes useless.............it was promptly locked. I thought I was pointing out something that was broken so people could verify it and hopefully get enough attention to get fixed, but all I got was a locked post.........../boggle

I had the same problem with being a Rifleman Tank after CU. Before CU my pets would tank for me. After the mobs would be on me after my first shot.

I have found for the new system Mobs will go after the Player/Creature doing the most damage to it. Use this to your advantage.

As a Rifleman I have learnd to let my pet attack first (pulls agro on one mob at a time). Then do a leg shot first (low damage) to slow the mob down. And follow up with other shots later.

In a group, The PC who is acting as a Tank needs to "Taunt" the Mob to hold its agro (remind them when you hunt with them)... Then you can attack with your High damage attacks. If not, use Ranged Attack (usually lower damage then others in your group) until you can do a high damage finishing shot.

I dont use Concel Shot since it is still to buggy and the groups I hunt with have finished half the Mobs before I can take cover.

Also Advanced Sniper Shot takes too long (can do 2 head shots in the same time doing more damage).

Also alternating between Head Shot and Ranged Shot seems to maximize damage done in an amount of time.

Whenever I go out hunting, I wear either cheap Ubese, or my Tie Fighter suit or Imperial Uniform, simply because I cannot afford my other good armor to run down.

I'm willing to take a break in between Bols if it means I don't have to blow my money away.

CM 4000 has been the only thing keeping me alive, and I am not even a MR.

Well how about tanks that are mad that we do more damage then they do? There is a current Jedi thread about a bunch of Jedi defenders (pure tank no offensive skill) being mad that a person with a rifle could solo Krayts faster then they could group kill them. The person was slowing the krayt and rooting thekrayt constantly when running in circles around it.

basic concept of what a nuker and tanks role is:

(Nukers > Tanks when damage being done to target is concerned)

(Tanks < Nukers when damage being taken from targetis concern)

A few other things to think of:

1) we are not the professions with the uber snares and roots

2) we don't have terrain negotiation

3) we bring 1 thing to this fight... ranged damagebut even pistols can dothat (with less sac cost and nearly the same damage)

I still can't get over that nobody at SOE actually sat down and thought through the implications of the hate system. It's a no brainer, yet they still missed it.

I didn't use buffs or uber armour, so why did the combat revamp have to spoil my game?

We pointed out a lot pre cu ack, remember me stateing that in PvP there is no way that the rifleman are going to stay behind the lines? Instead they are going to be the lines and create a 65m (80m with arms) dead zone in front of them?

I've just been rolling with it MBH/MR CM 4000. I use the Improved duelist stance and CM heals with a 110% medical droid out and I can sometimes stay alive with 3-4 lvl 82's on my CL 80 self. Usually though we just pull one or two and when they get up to me after doing my full damage shots I primarily focus on spamming heals and resetting Improved duelist stance. It's the only thing that comes close to doing what the dev's set Bounty Hunter as, damage mitigation specialist...the rest of the tanks can't seem to hold aggro like the BH can

The biggest problem in such hunts it seems is that a lot of melee folks just don't use taunt or don't know yet how to use it . It can be very frustrating indeed if you have excellent tanks in your group that don't tank (and don't do any damage either...).It's notso much a problem in grouphunts for hunting or grinding if you do normal missions but it's a big problem in the hard-core dungeons. Perhaps taunt needs to get more powerful or the highgest-damage-aggro needs to be toned down a bit.

That's even less forgivable then. They should employ us to write this thing
