Thread: So what are they nerfing rifleman on?
There is only one plus to the nerf. We'll be incredibly rare again. People will laugh at us behind our backs due to our giant gun, the only sad thing is that a lot of the good 'ol riflemen will be gone because this is just about the breaking point for that poor camel's back. I'm going to stick with this prof until I cancel my account however that won't be until the SE ruins my dreams. If it is everything I hope it is going to be then I'll stick around. Otherwise I'm going to put my baby T-21on a wall (next to myfirst)and leave the game.

Cmon you guys, we all found ways to make rifleman a playable profession and helped eachother out before. With the new patch we may not be as good as now, but the diehard riflemen will make it work. Besides, when they make the changes and we go back to only having around 100 masters total they will realize their mistakes and help us out again.
Won't it be nice to have our forums back and get rid of all these trolls?

i cant see how a speed cap 1/2/3 p/c/r could work. a pistoller could spam special shots 3 times more than us. + if we miss we have to wait ages for another shot.
pistol 80% chance to hit 200 damage.(1 shot per second)in 6 seconds = 960
rifle80% chance to hit 600 damage. (1 shot per 3 seconds) in 6 seconds = 960
same damage potential.
however...
premis = 1st shot misses.

r = 480

Uhhh? Like rilfeman dont have HAM costs.
But back to the topic. That all sounds bad for the rifelman profession but if its truly balanced with the changes in the other proffession i dont care. My fear is we will get a half finshed system with a total broken rifelman proffession. The changes SOE made in the past were always extreme. They made rifelman from nothing to FOTM, mind buffs from moun to stacked food/drink/dancer/musician buffs, BH form FOTM to ...well poor BH, Commando flamer from deadly to "hahaha look i am on fire".
So i expect to get nerfed to from FOTM to a proffesion eery pistoleer will laugh about. And it will take them a leat 2-3 moth to fix that again.
But hey, i got 250 skill points i have other proffs. Maybe the will be worth playing.

Of course Riflemen have HAM costs, but if they implement a system that stops Pistoleers spamming specials they will implement it for all, like I said. I fully expect a Stim B to heal mind damage as well with the new patch, after all it's only fair that HAM is treated the same.
1 profession isn't going to totally own any others hopefully, though of course getting the right combination will the key (as well as teamwork and strategy).
I would expect Rifle and Pistol to be similar in DPS just at different firing rates, maybe with rifle having a bit more accuracy to offset slower specials but also higher HAM costs to reflect this.
But then I expect quite a few things...

am not to worried about the damage per second... am more worried about a pistoleer/smuggler or some such who can spam three specials stat affects in the time we can do one stat affect.
is bad enough with TKM doing dizzy knockdown ... imagine everyone being faster and more able to pin a state effect on you.
(50% resist still means that in 2 shots (withone left over) they can pin the state affect one you. were as rifleman would have 1 shot in that 3 to pin a state affect )

at 50% chance of it sticking...
then having 6 shots that do stat effects (at 50% 3 of them sticking) in the time it takes for 1 state affect for a rifleman to stick
dps is nothing in this game... you win with special effects (though dps + special = win)
