If you took the T21 along with the other things you suggestyou'd be gimpingthe professionnot nerfing it.

Stop complaining that we need to have less and tell the devs to FIX YOUR PROFESSION. That's why we stand out right now, we work almost as designed and so many other profs are trashed.

That means we use assualt RIFLES, sniper RIFLES, and jimmy joe bob's Tusken hunting RIFLE.

It's great being a RIFLEMAN and not a sniper.

technically a rifle refers to a long barreled weapon with a RIFLED barrel......

to complicate things of course you have short rifles, assualkt rifles, battle rifles, automatic rifles. recoiless rifles, carbines, sub machine guns, automatic rifles, machine rifles, sniper rifles, bolt action rifles, reciprocating rifles....

im bored now so ill stop.

but in swg it seems that carbines refer to SMG type waepons

Rifleman are NOT the standard army grunts! The M16 is a CARBINE. All the standard "rifles" that soldiers have carried into war since theturn of the centuryhave been carbines. M14's, M16's, M1 Garands, ect. are all carbines.

It's a fine line between rifles and carbines. Rifles have historically been MUCH longer weapons (like the Kentucky Long Rifles of the Civil War) with barrels over 30" in length.

Rifles are usually chambered in a high powered round versus the standard .223 that carbines use. Rifles are usually chambered in 7.62 x 51mm, .308 Winchester, .30-06, .300 Winchester Magnum, and even 50BMG. These are meant to inflict MAXIMUM damage at LONG range.

As it stands when the nerf bat hits the floor, we will be a dead profession. We'll have a speed cap and our "ELITE" weapon has already had the damage nerfed.

Actually sir you are a little off. The M16 is a rifle the M4 is the carbine smaller barrel and retractable stock. M14 and the garand carbines??? ROFL they both use 7.62 ammo. I believe you are thinking of the M1 carbine used by the airbourne and rear troops. This is a much smaller gun and has a swivel stock.

Please do not come here and spout this rubish.

My god some of you people make me sick!

What the hell is this nerf every other profession but our own thing all about?

What's this call for nerfing pistoller because when used with bounty hunter and you have a geo pistol you hit too much damage... honestly have you ever thought that people with JUST pistoleer might not have that combination and by calling for this rediculous nerf you might be affecting their game?

I know this all comes from the PvP I want to be better than you **edit** for tat arguments which always go on but you know what most of my time in the game is made up of PvE and I'd be damned if all this egotistical crap as shown by some people will spoil the game for me!

How about instead of let's nurf everyone else, SOME of you start thinking: How can I improve Rifleman?

Get a grip.

There we go things to improve our profession. I like teh sound of that. Almost uplifting, really.

Increased range that would be nice. Notice I didn't say nerf pistol and carbine range. Wow that's refreshing.

And as much as I hate to interject real life into this fantasy world can anybody tell me what armed force refers to their infentry as Riflemen? If you know, try drawing your real life analogies from that.

im a bh and although i would be a rifleman had it not be my love for bh in this game. now i know what you guys are saying with the 600 dmg stun pistols and eyeshot only problem is that it takes a ton more skill points to do. more skill points used=more power(in most cases) i mean one of the best rifleman templates out there is combined with tkm how awesome is that? throw in some fencer defense and novice medic and your set to basically live in the wild. yes this takes a lot of skill points but in this case more skill points=more power plz no flames just point this out i mean a bh without a geo stun gun is really weak. a bh needs to spend 15 extra points just for pistol techs 2 and if they go master that leaves them with 18 pts left. atm for the skill points required to be a master rifleman it is an uber proffresion.

i always wondered why BH's use that point arguement

lets see... the 1/2 of the bottom points they spend are on a non-combat profession, 1/4 of the points they spend in there elite are not combat related, in fact they spend 1/4 the points a pistoleer does on pistol, 1/4 the points a carbineer does on carbines, and 2/5 as many points on HW as a commando does.

in fact they actually spend 7/8 as many points on *combat* as master rifleman/marksmen, pistoleer/marksmen, or carbineer/marksmen

I don't think the people in this thread are seriously calling for a nerf, they are just pointing out the hypocrisy of calling for a nerf on us - when they have similar capabilities.

I have seen a good solution to everyone calling us uber

either change jawa to electric damage *which a lot of us think is a good idea* or change it to AP0 then a stun layer really does do something

The only thing is in order to get something similar you have to combine it with another profession, and the example given here is BH. I am a Ranger and Pistoleer, I find it is a good combination for my play style, I've never really got into PvP in any kind of massive way so making some changes to pistoleer to stop a problem when combined to BH may mean I can no longer play the way I do in the game purely because I didn't want to be a BH.

I guess another solution here (and for the problem described in this thread) is to stop this combination being effective by seperating BH Pistols from Pistoleer pistols or something. Same as they have done with defence stacking.

There is always two classes of people. Those who want to be a profession because they want to be that profession and those who want to be that profession because it's the best and it upsets them when balance or order is acheived so they are on a level peg with everyone else.

Complicated aint it?

I think I speak ofr most of the older generation of rifleman when I say that ues we need to be balanced, but we do not need to be balanced with broken proffessions(the ones crying nerf).

lets say we do get balanced with them. What happens when they get fixed? They become the uber FOTM. So SOE has to either nerf them of fix us...which do you think they would do?
