Of course, with the removal of AP-AR, I would hope that there will be some sort of compensation for the likes of a T-21 as Heavy AP is one of the draws to the rifle. And given that a T-21 does not use of the special attack types (aside from Kinetic & Energy) listed as coming from the CU (acid, heat, etc), one wonders what the the draw will be to even use a T-21 versus a DXR.

ah, have we forgotten about the 3 different fire modes already???? tsk tsk

My prediction, is that very few Weapons will actually be able to switch between one or more firing modes. AND I'll bet, that the T21 will one of the very limited number of guns that will be able to switch between ALL THREE firing modes! I wouldn't hang up your 'Big Boom Sticks' just yet!

[edit] then what in the hell is the point of all the different weapons other than looks? might as well, just only have ONE weapon for energy, one for acid and so on and so forth. tactics my ***

Ehhh, there will be tactics...Tactics that everyone can figure out. They want to make it fair for everyone, even my retarded 3-time inbred step-cousin. Right now with all the pools, and all the weapons and all the buffs it's hard for idiots to stay competitive at the top end.

They ask for tactics and want to avoid spamming the same shot...I have 6 rifles on my hotbar, and 8 different attacks. Yes, SS2 gets a lot of use, it's the big damage special. In PvP I like to open up with a few flurries with my DXR (very accurate), until dizzy sticks (how interactive) then go for a bit of suppression fire, hit em with a MS2 as soon as they fall down to make sure I get the 1.5x KD bonus for my bleed. Then we go to the various poison and fire rifles. Once my target is suitably dotted I go to the jawa or DXR, depending on what armor and/or PSG they're wearing. There's plenty of variety and interactivity currently from what I can see.

They don't want 1 gun to be the best for everything...And yet they put in a weapon-switch delay to make choosing a new, better suited weapon more difficult. They don't want 1 armor to be the best for everything...and there isn't. You can choose light 80% kinetic, 80% blast/energy/kinetic, 80% kinetic/energy/13% stun, 80% energy/kinetic, 80% electric, 39-41% stun, with lower base and higher cost, ect ect. Suggesting this will be an "upgrade" is rediculous. If it looks like a NERF, tastes like a NERF, and smells like a NERF...must be a NERF the CURB.

I would think they would make rifles shoot slow but hit harder than all the others. Pistol and Carbine would be opposite (fill the air with shots but not so much damage). Just speculation on what i would like to see.
