Thread: Can a Rifleman be an effective tank with the right template?

You can be an effective tank with Master Rifleman in your template, just not a when holding a rifle....

Yea, thats it, no it doesnt work when dizzied but , you stand faster when using the /stand command or macro, ofcourse you cant stand when dizzied. Really helps, beats typing /stand a million times.

Ah, thanks. I thought there was something magical in your macro that would help you stand or give you a better chance at standing when KD and dizzied.
I love it when I get KD and then a NPC use a posture up attack and it causes me to get up!

Really i always thought it was a 2.5x more dmg mod. I seem to take way more dmg with a rifle than a pistol which is 1.5? Plus you have to remember that unless you use a dxr-6 you are going to miss a lot point blank. You can solo hight lvl stuff but not by just standing there.

it was a 2.5x damage mod for the first year- but the devs relented.

while we're playing "WAY BACK", let's not forget that commandos suffered the same 2.5x melee damage... and their weapon specials max range at 16m.
thankfully, those days are behind us.

You have to combine it with Pikeman. That will give you around 185 block (without skill tapes.) With my template and tapes, I am capped with block, melee/ranged def, pike/rifle speed/accuracy, and rifle acc while moving and I am a pretty effective tank. The template isn't that hard to figure out, but I don't want people to know what it is because of the upcoming bloodfin ironman competition. It's a secret...SHHHH!

Of course you can tank an Elder and an Ancient Krayt.. Just use the command /intimidate
End of conversation..I can been over this lots of times haha. Huge damage reduction. I can stand getting raped by a Giant Krayt for 13-16mins while i shoot him with SS2 in the face and i never go below 50% health.... Just jeep it intimidated. Use a Thakitillo and you won't have to worry about being dizzied as you will only get KD'd about 3-5 times. Only a couple of them land full impact. The worst thing you can do when you get KD'd is press /stand. Try switching weapons.

as I said before, my T21 has +0 at 0m mod so I rarely miss, even when standing next to the creature/npc. This is the reason why I was so interested in making a rifle tanking template.

You did? O well i dint see it. Yeah with a rifle like that you would be a lot more effective. Also Kroga, block along with dodge and counter attack cap at 125 unless they changed that too so you only need like 1 box in pikeman to cap. I would use the skill points in tk and fencer if you want better defence.

where do attachments come into play? Is it a hard cap at 125 or can you only get 100 from skills and you need +25 in attachments or something like that?
