Waste is batting for Wookies on this. I know the devs have expressed interest. So, keep your fingers crossed.

i created a wookie shortly after launch. I created one of the strongest BH/Ch on my server at the time before the armorsmiths had really figured out how to make good composite. However it did not take long for me to stay away from pvp because of the no armor issues. As the armorsmiths got better at composite armor, the more I felt left behind. A few blind shots from a bh or head shots from a rifleman and down i go.
My friends would all ask me to come along on pvp raids because they would see the massive firepower i had at my disposal in pve hunts. Between my bowcaster which was one of the best on the server at the time, my LLC, and my scatter, and my pets, i had a multitude of options in my arsenal and if my group was big enough it could be fun.....but in the end i deleted him and quit playing the game. Roughly six months later I renew my account and what do i find...WOOKIE ARMOR!!! ARGH the frustration. Now I play a human rifleman and am very happy with my ham set up with 1000 on all 3 mind stats and only 400 on my physical attributes cus of the abundance of buffs now.
To the subject, I love the idea of having a hunting bowcaster that mirrors the t-21 in cert and damage. Then maybe i would create my alt as a wookie when i finally unlock my jedi.

Wookies already have mroe then they should so i don't see why they should get anymore attention for now untill other stuff is fixedYou mean all 2 dozen sets of clothing that we have, no footwear, stats locked in health and str and one of the worst minds for being a rifleman? Yeah we've got so much more than everyone else
/sarcasm off
Wookiees have been shafted from the start, the only one thing that we've seen is armour to even come close to everyone else. You lot had armour from launch so ours was a very long time coming. Attention? I dont feel like were getting special treatment, just being treated equally for a change.
No that they got armor. They were never ment to have armor. And shouln't. But yet they did.
Next time you pvp take off all your composite armor and see how long you last against a TKM. Have you ever even playd a wookie before? "Wookies shouldnt have armor", one of the stupidest statements I have ever heard. Please go make yourself one and wear just cloths and no armor, and see what it was like to pvp.Message Edited by saladin123 on 10-23-2004 01:45 PM
To be honest, Wookiees shouldn't NEED armor, but the problem was the devs didn't take into account how people would hold high quality supplies until they had great materials for each material to make armor. According to the Prima Strat Guide, do you know what the general effectiveness of Composite Armor is supposed to be? 20. Umm... when was the last time someone bought composite with a general effectiveness below 60?
I don't think they expected buffs to get where they are today. Buffs pretty much force everyone to use the same old stat hook up: max out mind, max out secondaries, average the remaining stats into Health and Action.
Wookiees were given armor to help them actually stand a chance against other races in PvP. The only time a wookiee is a good race is when you're a Jedi because you can't wear armor anyways...

Funny thing is.. in the paper/dice sw rpg game... the bocaster is insanely good with high damage, and can only be used by wookies.

I like the suggestion for the Advanced Bowcaster. I am a Wookie Master Weaponsmith. With that schematic, and some Kryat tissue, I could make one WHOOPA$$ Bowcaster.

I'm a wookiee, I'm a master ranger, I'm a master rifleman, I'm a professional hunter, I'm all for this.
"Advanced Bowcaster" is a great idea. Make it equivalent to a T21, infact just make it a T21 with a different skin. This way, nobody is gaining anything, except the look. Let's face it, that's what we want, we want the 'look' without sacrificing perfomance.

what exactly do we have "mroe" of?
our armor DOES NOT compare to composite... our encumbrance is a bit lower but u can not find high resistance to all wook armor, and our stun amror is basically ONLY stun resistance, so we have to choose... use 38% stun and 60-68% others or 80 kin + energy and 70-85 base (depending on slice)
the bowcaster which as states in this thread is completely under-powered, it needs AP2 or maybe a higher damage output.
all factions come at the highest cost for us.
the specials we get are pretty much useless because /wookieeroar rarely sticks
I dont even understand how you think we get lots of stuff, unless u think that +10 creature taming bonus is a game unbalancing mod.....

Actually, in terms of armour, wookiees still have less: Less flexibility. With composite, you can cut you mind encumbrance (Important for riflemen) by not wearing a helmet. Wookiee's can't even do that, every design of armour we have has the chest and helmet as one unit. I personally think this is a pain in the rear. Similarly there's the comp bracer+gloves versus simple wookiee bracers. Wookiees (plus ithorians and trandos) can't even wear armoured boots to protect their feet, at least in the combat revamp this will be fixed.

That is exactly what the idea was. I'm still pushing for this kind of idea in the CU/R/B.

Waste93 wrote:The Bowcaster is only a good grind weapon until you can use a Laser Rifle since the damage difference because of AP alone is 56%.The suggestion I'm pushing for the Bowcaster is to have an Advanced Bowcaster (or Hunting Bowcaster). This weapon would have the same stats as the T21 bascially. So you would see Wookiee Riflemen using it. However with it's stats being the same as the T21 it shouldn't effect or cause resentment with others. The only real difference would be the weapon graphic. Yet I think this method would make the Hunting Bowcaster a standard arm for Wookiees and brink back some of that SW feel. The other option would be to change the regular Bowcaster and then move up it's cert location like described above. It's listed as issue #7 in the Rifleman issue thread.

That would be awesome. I'm not a wookiee but they look very cool carrying them. It is a shame that they aren't as powerful as we are made to believe that a wookiee weapon should be.
