Thread: Should I keep my Laser Rifle or Get a T-21

For soloing, the T21 is the best... Bigger dmg, and Heavy Armor Piercing mean blue and white cons will most likely drop with just 1 Headshot. Slow to recover if you have adds, but if you get a good rythm or movement strategy down, this is easily fixed. ( IE= You have 3 charging you, 1 went down with the initial Headshot, get up, move back some, time for your next shot, make it a Headshot, 1 left which should be easy even if he's right on top of you )

1 shot kills are beautiful... now if only we where worth an ounce of bantha poodoo in PVP...

Laser Rifles are great for taking down the actual Lair, Hive, Nest, whatever... Also best when you're fighting in a Team, and everyone's doing Physical dmg, not Mind... popping off Headshots isn't helping the group when the creature dies from physical dmg. So, switch to your much faster, all-be-it a lot less reliable Laser Rifle, and Aim, regular shot, or provide some cover fire, dizzy, whatever, but make it physical dmg not mind.

Wookiee Bow Blaster... A great weapon for a Wookiee who hasn't gotten certified for Laser Rifle yet... meaning, if you make a Wookiee, and are lucky enough to get a Bowcaster on your first day of playing, good job! By tommorow it'll be collecting dust. lol Really just a novelty to whip out when the fights are easy, and you wanna look stylin.

Oh, things have changed a lot since I was levling to master. But a nice DLT20a was usually my PvE weapon of choice. Simply because of it's low ham, I could shoot a lot and not kill myself. If your useing a laser your going to have to use muon or food/drink or both to sustain specials for any respectable duration.

I made it to master useing it. Not by choice, just on starsider Laser rifles came out like 2 weeks after I mastered.

Also one of the better places for me as a novice rifleman was fort tuskan. Mainly because they don't charge you to melee you. (Dont go inside with your rifle out though, snipers don't like caves as a rule =)

I got a 588 max dmg t21 and since its more consistant then a laser rifle i use it cause i don't feel like doing a 5k hit one time and 100 the next.

last post said it all. Those 600 max dmg lrs are doing like 70 min dmg. Im not trusting my life to a 70 dmg shot. Boils down to what you can afford i guess... t-21s on flurry are 15-25k a pop. I just happily paid 325k for a pre-nerf that maxs out in the 800's and i tell you, no other rifle compares. I suggest buying a laser rifle now and waiting until the next patch to decide on a t-21, but man, that first day i switched from lr to t-21 my head shot 3's jumped from around 1500 avg to about2500 avg dmg now, and this ismy post-nerf t-21 im talking about. Maybe it was just the creatures i was shooting or something.... never have gone back....

Get one of every type of Rifle. You will eventualy use them all I bet.

I use my T21 solo, DoTs, AoE...

I switch to my Laser to alow my partner more exp/fp when hunting Stormies.

Im also a Master Combat Medic, so timing for attacks and heals are important to me. Therefore, one Rifle just doesn't apply to every case.

I hated using the Laser rifle, way too unpredictable with that rock bottom minimum damage. Every single time I needed that big shot it would do like -60 and I'd wind up getting in trouble. I like guns that aren't so all over the place with their damage stats, I like my T21 for that reason, the heavy armor piercing is nice for bleeding out those Krayt Dragons.

whats composite armor, heavy, med ? do you guys use t-21 in pvp or laser rifle?

All armor that a player can own is classified as light. Only non-player creatures and vehicles (that **edit** AT-ST) can have medium or heavy armor. If you need more info check the mini-manual on armor in the Advanced Manuals section. It surprisingly informative compared to what's available in the paper manual.

Get one of each for sure, when I turned novice and bought my first T21 I cursed wasting 30k on a useless rifle, now i'm 1-0-3-1 and it is my ranged weapon of choice. I dont know when it happened but at some point for sure it became real useful. What made me change was when I was huntingCrystal Snakeswith some friends, plugging away with my trusty 50-483 dmg sliced laser I was averaging 1200xp per kill, after a switch back from pistol (saving my ass from melee ) I equipped the speed sliced T21 by mistake and suddenly i'm getting 14-1500xp. I alsofeel, although this may be psychological, my accuracy with the T21 seems better. The real clincher though is if you happen to be a rebel, let rip on an AT-ST with that baby and you WILL make the top of its hate table real fast!

I dunno why people hate on the Laser Rifle, I'm not even at Novice Rifleman yet and I Headshot 2 for 1200-1532 on every three shots or so. And with a speed of 4.5, My laser rifle is my best friend.
