I would like to know this as well.....
I too was hoping for Vol. Unknowns make me nervious...
Sorry for the "odd" reception but you have to understand the puzzled looks. I hope TH can shed some light on this...

I hope my inital annoucement had brought you the information you've been requesting.
Obviously it didn't, since people continued to request the information long after you posted your initial announcement.

At this point I'm sorry for any problems that this might have cause a few people but, I as your Correspondent am ready to get things moving for our profession and not waste anymore time or energy on why I'm here and why some are not.
In other words, the people whom you supposedly represent have asked you, in a direct and reasonably civil fashion, to explain how you ended up as their correspondent, and your response is to blow them off and "move forward" and not explain a damned thing in hopes that the question will simply go away.
In short, more of the same treatment the Riflemen have been getting from the Devs over the past few months.

There should be no doubt as to my ability to be your message giver.
On the contrary, there is considerable doubt. The fact that your posts read less like the posts of someone who enjoys the Rifleman profession, and more like excerpts from the Business Management and Leadership section of your local Barnes and Nobles, isn't really helping matters.
I don't want buzzwords and motivational catchphrases like "building a community" and "working as a team." There's a dozen or so motivational posters in the lobby of my office building that will provide more of that than I can stand.
I want someone who gives a rat's backside about this profession, is passionate about his/her beliefs, and is willing to deal with his/her fellow Riflemen in a straightforward, no bullsh*t manner. And so far, in this regard, you've come up lacking.
I would also like some closure regarding the reasons you were selected over half a dozen other folks who have contributed more frequently and more significantly to this forum than you have, but apparently they don't cover that in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People or Who Moved My Cheese? or whatever book it is you're reading to tell you how to deal with the folks in this forum.
You have an opportunity here to build a community and get everybody working together as a team so that you can leverage our empowered synergies for a results-oriented strategy. But to activate this solution paradigm, you're going to have to think outside the box and stop trying to simply accentuate the positive and provide us (some of us, at least) with an explanation of how you got picked, however negative you perceive that explanation to be.
Or you could just keep ignoring our requests for info. We're used to that from the Devs.
Well, like the rest of the Rifleman on this board, I've never heard of you, but welcome anyways.
so far all the posts I've seen have been all about blowing sunshine up our ...
that five point plan takes the cake, heh.
I think we are all confused as to how and why you got the job over Volsted/seflyn/KrankyLobo, but since you have it and it doesn't seem like it's going to change, hopefully you can move beyond the political opening statement mumbo jumbo and get straight to work with our issues - as volsted mentioned, we don't need a lot of organizational luvy dovy junk, we got by for a good month on our own and now see more rifleman than ever (possibly due to holocrons).
What I think most of us would have LIKED to see as your opening statement was our 5 most pressing issues you are going to take to the devs.
Be straight with us, tell us what the devs tell you, tell the devs what the REASONABLE MAJORITY thinks are the issues we face, and be 'one of us' - not 'another dev' who just BS's us and doesn't tell us a thing for months on end.
Sincerely - Welcome and good luck

How about:
"Thunderheart wrote me a message, asked me if I wanted to become a correspondant, and I said yes."
or
"I wrote a message to thunderheart, telling him I want to be a correspondant because XYZ..."
or
"I was having lunch with thunderheart as usual, and he said he had to find a correspondant and if I would do that job he'd pay my pizza".
Yes, you can not explain WHY this process was handled differently for this class than for others. Only TH can, and I think it's one of your duties here to get that explanation from him. But you CAN give us a plain, simple and short explanation HOW this process was handled, at elast for the part that you were involved with.
Given that you fail to realize all the obvious questions from YOUR COMMUNITY and still pretend that you have all questions answered, yes I have to qeustion your ability for communication. This is a big issue for many people here, and you fail to address this issue. Why should we trust you to be able to handle our other issues?
We do not want someone who has this position just so he can make changes to his personal RP PvP style. We want someone who adresses OUR issues. Which you might be. But with your constant "I won't tell you" attitude this is hard to believe.
Let me ask you one question then:
What is the important stuff you are working on all the time for this profession that prevents you from writing a simple explanation?
I think the issues are pretty clear (as they were 3 month ago). If you think that formatting the FAQ is more important than answering the quesitons of your community, I can accept this. However, I will not be happy with that.
as an afterthought, i see you have started an 'issues' thread , so, i take my previous statementsabout your opening statement back.
although i still would have liked to see some real business in your opening post - whats done is done ![]()
I think we're all anxious to hear what YOUR thoughts are on the profession -so far we don't really know what you're all about, aside from 'bringing us together as a community'...
**edit** that was funny.

I'd heard that there were a few people uncomfortable with klawlegna's choice to represent the riflemen, so I thought I'd stop by and talk a little bit about how and why.
First off, I reviewed all of the correspondent letters I recieved and out of all the messages I recieved, klaw's was the most respectful, the most inciteful and the one that expressed the most concern for the Rifleman community. I chose klaw because he represented a strong knowledge of the material and a desire to improve the profession and to work with the riflemen and make the profession more fun and more in line with what your desires are.
I waited as long as I could and reviewed all of the applicants and klawlegna really stood out as someone who had the profession's best interests in mind. Please give him a chance. I know the transition is always tough, but Im sure you folks will work with your correspondent to come up with great questions and issues for the profession.
As it stands, today is the day for internal Top 5 review, so please get klawlegna your top 5 issues and lets get things moving in a direction that will make you more satisfied withyour chosen profession.
TH I think peoples main problem was the lack of posts on this forum, which after all is where most riflemen interested in fixing / changing the rifleman forum post.
We have quite a few people who post of this forum with helpful, well written and thought out posts, VGs post on weapons being a prime example.
We did have a post where people interested in the position put their names forward,VGs post on the second page impressed me. http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=rifleman&message.id=24796&page=2
It's not thatI have anything against Klawlegna, it's that we don't know him. I'm happy that we have a correspondent and can understand why you may not want to appoint some of the people if you look at their post history, but surely there was a regular that had not upset the Devs?
Again Klawlegna seems to be fitting into the job fine, but I don't understand why there were not more posts before he had the correspondent position, and to be honest I think VG would have done just as well had he got the position.
A quick question, will we receive a response to ourissues this time? The last time AA submitted them we didn't get any feedback, I believe this was the case for many professions.
Sorry, TH, but I'm calling SHENANIGANS on you for this.
You've pulled this BS now with a number of correspondents, breaking with the method that Q-3PO had used pretty darn well with all the other professions (i.e. post something on the boards asking for applications, take comments from the community, then announce the decision).Heck, you even created some correspondentpositions and filled them without evermaking a general call for applicants. This is operating under the table. Andit just plain stinks.
You're rapidly losing credibility. And klawlegna needs to establish his.
