In Medal of Honor and Call of Duty I always played a Rifleman/Sniper. When I got to SWG,I just seemed to instinctively gravitate to Rifleman. I have never regretted my decision.

I picked up rifles just for stopping the kill stealers at the krayt graveyard.
We had a group out there with3 master swords, 2 TKM's and a MBH
One lone Rifleman sneaked up after we had it down to about 3/5 health and out damaged our entire group,
So i picked up rifle purely out of frustration

I was going to go BH first, but being new to the game, I wasn't sure if it was right for me. Plus, I did not feel like mastering Scout AND Marksman.
Tried out Commando next, and didn't really like it...too bugged and not as powerful as it should be.
I thought about Pistoleer or Carbineer, but everything seemed to point to Rifleman.
I grinded out the professions, and I've had it ever since. I love Rifleman, and I'd only ever drop it for another ranged professsion. Sorry, but this is Star Wars, not some lame fantasy crap. The characters in The SW universe use guns, not stupid-looking hammers and swords (save for Jedi and Teras Kasi who use lightsabers and fists and are theonly truly proficient melee' fighters in the SW universe AFAIK). I love FPS games, and I am a recreational shooter in real life, so Rifleman seemed like the natural choice.
Having an uber-powerful profession was never part of my plan, I just wanted something I'd be happy with from both a gaming and roleplayingperspective. As it turns out though, Rifleman is quite powerful and satisfying from an RP standpoint as well. I'm contemplatying Carbines or Pistols as the lure of Bounty Hunter is still present. For now though, I'm staying true to my Rifle.

When I first picked up the game I knew I was going Master Ranger. I knew I liked ranged batter than melee, so I mastered Marksman(really just for the bagde) and went Pistoleer. Eventually I got tired of being ineffective against higher end mobs (since Ranger doesn't offer a lot in the combat arena). I finally dropped it and started climbing the Rifleman ranks (2/1/2/2 atm)... and so far it ROCKS!

I wanted to grab a ranged weapon profession so that I could hunt for hides/meat for my alt. I saw a guildie with a T21 and figured- Hey nice gun! Went to work on Marksman, really enjoyed it, and it just carried through with rifleman. This all started I guess shortly before the hologrinding craze, so I didn't grind it per se, it just kinda happened that I ran up the skill boxes. It's a great profession.
The only thing I got tired of was the guildies saying "Hey - Big Gun - what are you overcompensating for!"
Cheers

Was a master marksman and and working up the Combat Medic tree. Then I decided to go up pistols. After a while I realized for both PvE and PvP pistols kinda sucked hard. I moved to rifles instead to compliment MIND poisons as well as give some decent ranged offense. I wasn't till after I made master Rifleman that I realized just how good a profession it can be. I've been a MCM/MRifles ever since.

I've never liked melee so when I started I wanted something ranged. For some reason I've never liked Carbines and pistols you had to get close; I've also liked being more of a support class and with rifles I can shoot from afar. this was the first combat i ever mastered and only dropped it once. Plus i'm cm so it fits nicely

Wow, thanks for the encouragment! I just recently picked up novice Rifleman and currently sitting at Rifleman1000. I picked it up because I wanted to dabble in the ranged professions and plus I heard it worked well with Scout/Ranger. I started this char (my third) with the template Master Ranger/Rifleman (not sure if even possible at this point) since I wanted to do something different. I had no clue it was as powerful as people said it was. I also had no idea that it was the Riflemen that got those huge guns i've been seeing for the past 8 months, LOL. Just last night I took my first trip to Yavin to hunt for wooly hide (mammiens) and despite only being novie rifleman, I could still take out 4k HAM creatures out with 3 or less headshot2's with my T21. With my other chars, it had been engraved in my play/mind that if I was going to hunt on 'hard' planets, i must be armored and buffed. Well, not anymore, jack! It's very cool knowing that I don't need full armor (only wear comp chestplate most of the hunting time) since i'm transdoshan and can't do the ol 4 piece suit thing...
Anyway, I love this Rifleman thing and I can't wait to better my skills here.

I wanted to be able to fight from long range, that June day a long time ago.
Sold my cdef pistol on the bazaar for 500 creds and bought a cdef rifle.
The whole idea of going prone and shooting at the lizards outside of Mos Eisley seemed so cool, and I had the crazy urge to hunt womp rats.
Release was when this game was SOO much fun. I'll never forget watching all those mobs incap me in 2 hits, thinking "damn this game is HARD!". 2 days later my brother told me about the 2.5x, and it changed the way I played. I still love rifles, always will, but I had to try something new to keep me in the game.
Melee/BH is my current home, but in non-jedi pvp, I REALLY miss rifleman.

I PvP a lot and swordsman was getting extremely boring. So to enjoy PvP again, I went Rifleman! Can't say it was a bad choice too. Got speed capped fast and got some decent guns and I was set.
