Sorry, the second part of my post was a response to xthelegolasx, not israeli.

Well if my focus on reliability makes me closed minded then I guess you're right. Nonetheless, with as much PvP as I do, I must be able to trust my weapon to deliver solid performance. I simply cannot afford to enter into a PvP encounter and fire off a 200 point headshot and then wait 7 seconds for the next one.

For PvE it may be fine, but when you hit someone for under 200, even if its just that one time. Your pretty much screwed. You cant afford to not one shot someone right now heh. Unless your a master rifleman with a DLT20a. And you can get of 3 HS a second.

*shrug* My sliced laser rifle is around 17-445 6.3 speed. I have seen them go down to 3.4 speed personally. And with a max damage mod it hits about 17-555. The thing is I don't even care if my first shot is for 100 or not when the next one is like 2200. And at 6.3 speed. It really comes down to preferences but saying a laser rifle is "useless" is just a false statement.

BaronJedi, your statement hold a lot of truth in PvE. However, in PvP, if your first shot goes off for 100, chances are you will not live to fire a second time.

Aldeon if it is so important to one shot people then what is the difference between a minimum hit of 200 and say 500? Your opponent will still get a shot off. I feel that a laser rifle is plenty effective in PvP. Again, so what if I hit for 200 and you hit for a 500? We would still be in the same boat. However a laser rifle is still very likely to incap on the first shot. You can hit for three times someones mind pool so your chances are very high.

I give you the same response Close. If you do not get a second shot off then what does it matter if you hit for 50 or 500? I mean people keep the mind pool pretty **edit** low but I have not seen the majority of my opponents with a mind pool at 500 or lower.

Actually a 500 dmg shot adjusted for AR will one-shot a LOT of people. I've recently found out that I may shoot my E11 for 500 or so and that's waht it will say in the combat window. But the number that goes off the HAM bar of the target is more like 770 or so because of the AR. And even if I don't one shot someone with the E11 (very rare), my second shot will come a lot sooner than a laser rifle. Precious seconds.

Ok, you dont understand. If you shoot someone for 100 dmg the first shot. Your done for. You wont live to see a second shot. At the moment, its one shot or nothing at all. Becuase the other person is going to one shot you. Any master will one shot you, no matter what you do. Why? Becuase of no AR2 or AR3 armor.
The fact is PvP is currently all or nothing. If you dont one shot people, walk away and goPvE somemore. When I go to AH, if I dont one shot the person, I run out of range, and come back in when I am ready to shoot again. Why? Becuase if I stay in range he will get a shot off. And if hes got a half decent weapon, Im either dead or going to die.

Well that also depends on the gun as I have seen laser rifles faster than E11s so I wouldn't say the shot comes "a lot" soonerbut either way you need to one shot people. That I agree with. The first shot is the most important and I find that a laser rifle is especially helpful against other riflemen. It is the only shot you will take with a delay of zero. I have been in fights against other riflemen where we both fire at nearly the same time and I am hit for close to his max at like 900dmg? Being like most riflemen a 900dmg shot isn't going to kill me. However my first shot just takes him out even though it is like half my maximum.

I think I understand fine. But do you understand what I am saying? In comparsion if you hit someone for 500 you are "dead" as well. I am not arguing the laser rifle as some uber tool of destruction but is it far from useless. Just sorry you can't see that.

ok - let me settle this once and for all. The laser rifle is NOT useless.I just PREFER the E11 and have come to realize, through my own personal experience, that for my style of play, especially in PvP, that the E11 is a better weapon FOR ME. Now, if the laser rifle's minimum damage was increased by about 70 points, that weapon would be the shizzle.

I agree, I wont be getting the laser rifle, becuase of its un reliable damage. Especially for PvP, if a 100 dmg shot coems off instead of a 1300, the fight is pretty much over for me.
And excuse me but what the hell is this? As rifle correspondant you actually have never used a laser rifle? I mean I don't mean to bash you or anything but come on..."I won't be getting the laser rifle" what the hell is that?
