Thread: What are the attacks in Riflemen you do the most?
Well, that was interesting. It posted nothing of what I said, just my signature. LOL What I said was:
Veustuh, you said "Strafe shot1 (drop stance)." I think you meant SuppressionFire1. SuppressionFire1 can drop their stance. Strafeshot1 will break the target's cover and lower their defenses.
Also, what was your thinking regarding taking cover to fight Kimos? Concealshot does not require cover (only Surpriseshot does, and that aspect is broken, I believe). And although most people assume that taking cover makes it harder for you to be detected, the description only says that it adds to your defenses. Thus, while you do get some bonuses to detection from being prone, the cover itself does not help in that regard as far as I can see. As far as I can tell, unless you are fighting a target that does ranged attacks, you really derive no benefit from taking cover. What was your reasoning for taking cover?
Ijust made Master last Saturday. So my tactics are still evolving. As indicated elsewhere, it depends on the situation. Butin order of priority with the caveats mentioned:
To prune down the size ofa group of higher level mobs, I still use Concealshot quite a bit. At the speeds you get at Master, Concealshot's slower cycle speed is not an issue. And there is no sense in attracting more attention than you have to.
When I am not concerned about attracting the attention of the target's friends, I have gone back to relying on Headshot2 and Headshot3. If I am mind buffed or using my E11, I will use Headshot3 because the extra mind costs are not as much of an issue. Otherwise, I will use Headshot2. If I expect the target to last a while, I will also throw in Mindshot2 and Mindshot1 to stackbleeds as well.
I use Strafeshot2 to attack large groups if I want to damage them all at once. And I will also throw in Flushingshot2s to stun and raise posture as well if I expect it to be more drawn out. I will also sometimes use the single target version of these to get a single NPC out of a prone, and possilbly covered, position.
I will also use FlurryShot2/Flushingshot2 or Flurryshot1/Flushingshot1, both with some SuppressionFire1s, to attempt knockdowns depending on whether I am trying to single out a target or not. Since the dizzy knockdown is not very reliable, I do this morebecause it is funny to see them fall down(especially since StrafeShot2 causes so much more damage).
flushing, flury, mind, head, conceal
so pretty much, all of the onees i have
I'm a master; in PvP I use flushingshot2 in mutliple foelarge encounters, /headshot3 in single-target takedowns, and lots of snipershot.
PVE: flushingshot2 in mutliple foelarge encounters, /headshot3 in single-target takedowns, and mindshots against bad-ass mothers.
u mean theres another attack other than stafe shot 2???
sometimes i use headshot if i'm fighting a rifleman, but lets face it, SS2 owns
Concealshot in PvP.. I've actually havent tested that out yet, due to the fact that you have to be under cover
You don't have to be under cover to use conceal shot.
Attackswould depend on the target just like the choice of weapon and stance. For leveling /takecover, spamming conceal with the correct rifle and a muon gold or two help. On average I can /takecover,equip a Jawa Ion Cannon and one muon gold to take out two kimo's just by using conceal shot.
For pirates on lok and many other npc's it would be strafe shot1 (drop stance), flurry shot 1/2 (dizzy), then flushing shot 1/2 (raises stance and stuns) to have them fall on their backs. I've found that this works well in solo PvP as well. Depending on the player you're fighting you can have them on their back before the can shoot at you. Once on their backs you can take you time and toy with your prey before you pull one of the best shots in our class which is sniper shot.
Gaiden,
The only shot in the game that requires cover is SurpriseShot, and from what others said in posts on this board, that is not working right now (i.e., the shot works whether in cover or not). Concealshot can be used from cover, but it is not required for Concealshot. And, unlike Surpriseshot, there is nothing in its description to suggest it does. It works no matter what your stance or cover state. It is just that if you are standing, you are easier to be detected than when prone, so you are more likely to be detected for other reasons if you are not at least prone.
