Thread: Current Issues
My top issue right now: The T21 is AP0 instead of AP3.
Also, do not submit that "headshot every 2 seconds" thing as a bug. It is NOT a bug. If you've played a BH at all you know what I'm talking about. If they change that they'd need a massive rebalancing across the board.
2nd report-
As we move onto the second month of Star Wars Galaxy, the game is beginning to round itself off. But, like all new games there is still stuff to be worked out.
As a lot of us advance higher up on the Rifleman tree, our XP begins to drop. And with one of the most recent patches, XP dropped a lot. Anything blue, is giving me 1-170 XP. But unusually green is giving me 49 XP. On some servers all guns have been made available, do to resource shifts. But on others, some have not. For a month now I’ve had the T21 certification available to me, and a lot of others have as well. I’ve even had the laser Rifle certification available, and most other servers have the laser rifle. Starsider seems to be the only one without it. As our XP drops, you would expect us to be able to do more damage to deal with the higher HP NPCs or creatures. But on some servers, our XP has dropped and were forced to try and fight mobs that we simply cannot handle because of our lack of weaponry. On Starsider there is no Laser rifle or T21, were using Jawa Ion rifles, DLT20as, or Tuskans, including other servers. The DX2 for Pistoleers isn’t available; a lot of other weapons are not available. And as we climb the tree were doing the same damage as I was doing at Novice rifleman. I can’t handle the higher conned mobs because of lack of weapons. I feel all resources should be made available, even if its lower quality, or on the most expensive planet, and as we harvest it, it decays and re-appears somewhere else in the planet/galaxy. This could help the economy, making it rise or lower as resources become better quality, lower, or more abundant, but always available. It hurts weapon crafters as well, not being able to sell or make what there trained to do. Attaining XP without proper weapons have become so hard, it’s almost impossible. All classes as a whole can’t afford to be so high up in the tree, yet still using a weapon any novice or marksmen can use, It just becomes too hard, and all weapons need to be made available, even if it means putting the T21 higher up in the tree. I actually suggest doing that. It would give us something more to attain, also leave room to put not as great weapons in the Rifleman tree. Putting the T21 at Sniping Accuracy 4, would make it so not everyone has the best weapon in the game at Novice rifleman, if all weapons were made available.
Which leads me to the T21, it currently has 2 bugs. One is very devastating to the gun. It seems its bugged to not be AR3. You can reach a screen shot of it at, <link>. This needs immediate attention, the Rifleman class needs a Rifle, that has a good steady damage, and the Rifle is currently bugged. If you will also notice, in that screenshot the T21 has an Ideal range of 0. Now a rifleman is suppose to be shooting from a distance, not from 0 meters out. As I have yet to get my hands on one, I am not sure if it has a great effect on the T21, from max range as it should.
In the Concealment line we have an ability to gain crawl speed. While it doesn’t have much advantage, I still tested it, as a lot of Rifleman where complaining. I raced a non-rifleman, which should have no bonus to crawl speed at all. We went for about 100 meters, and I had yet to gain any room on that person. This may become very useful upon; conceal being fixed to work on mobs that come in packs. So that we can move faster while in conceal without having to break it by standing to get into position on another mob.
Like Crawl speed, we should gain the ability to block. It is a very low percentage much like crawl, and it’s suppose to be on long range weapons and not melee. According too the information you have given us. I think clarification on this is needed, because none of us has experienced a single block. While others have dodged my shots, I have yet to block anything. Do I have to be standing; are its chances lowered while running? Some slight information would be helpful.
A lot of Rifleman feels our bonuses in certain lines are useless. There one sided mostly towards PvP, when any logical person wont use the styles that our bonuses fight against or help. Such as Startle Shot, this clears cover. Now no intelligent person is going to be in cover during PvP, although it gives you a defense bonus, it also takes a long time to stand up, and a Melee can close in on you in the time it takes you to fire once, then stand up. It has some usefulness, that it adds delay, but does it add delay to going back into cover or shooting? Some clarification would be helpful. With defense against posture change we should have available defense against knockdown instead. Since we don’t have a knockdown ourselves, and a knockdown pretty much decides who wins, a defense against it so we resists every once in a while would be very helpful, especially since it’s in counter-sniping line. I think Clarification on some of our bonuses, and styles is needed heavily, and certain things added. A lot of our bonuses are bugged, and some type of bonuses should be added. As a counter sniper I feel if I’m trained to defend myself against being forced to kneel, I should be able to train myself in defending against being knocked down.
For my personal, I’m asking the TEF system be fixed. When you attack an apposing faction, you should become available to attack for all apposing faction not just those you grouped with. TEF is also lasting through cloning; my body has been camped many times in the cloning facility. I’m forced to wait inside for 5 minutes to get out, or burst run out of there. Especially if I did not insure my weapon, it makes it very hard for me to defend myself when I still have a TEF up. I also think faction Points should be shared throughout the group. It’s hard for those medics, or people at a range to get any FPs, because there either to far away healing, or to far away shooting. Of course the rifleman has a counter to this our long range death blow, but not all classes can do this. But for all those others who have lest FP gains while in PvP it should be shared throughout the entire group. Because those medics helped you take that person down, even though he didn’t do the damage, he kept that person alive. Everyone in the group contributed some how to kill that person, if it was cover fire, or providing the buffs, they did somehow. So everyone should gain from someone in the group death blowing an enemy faction, not just the one person.
A couple things. First of all, one advantage of the SG82 is it does cold damage which basically negates a lot of armor types. Secondly, the T21s range is not bugged. If you look at the modifiers it's 0 at point blank (which is effectively ignored because ideal range is also 0.0), -20 at "ideal", and 0 at long.
So, basically the way the gun is set up is there is only one range scale. It's -20 at point blank, but as you get further away it decreases until there's no penalty at exactly max range. This is unlike other rifles which have a penalty which decreases to ideal range and then increase again to max. Overall the T21 is WAY better than the Laser Rifle because it has only a slight penalty at all ranges, where as the Laser Rifle has insane penalties.
In fact, one thing I think you should bring to the dev's attention is that the Laser Rifle's long range penalty is EXTREME considering it's ideal range is 60 meters. Basically how it's set up is when you're standing at 60 meters you are +20 to hit, but if you step back 1, suddenly you are -17 or so, step back just 4 meters and you're at max range and -80 to strike. This is really both unbelievable (how could it's accuracy fall off that fast in 4 meters, whenyou're already at such long range?) and also incrediblylame and frustrating because mobs always step in and out a little as you shoot at them.
Finally, I think you should suggest that different weapon types have different ranges. I don't suggest increasing ranges, because it's not going to happen. What I do think is Pistols max range should be reduced to 40, Carbine's ideal range should be reduced to 56 (as far as I can tell it has to be multiples of 8). Or even 32 and 48 for the pistol and carb...just so long as it's lower than rifle and pistol is the lowest. There should be some serious trade-offs for the pistol's current uberness.
thanks aldeon
you seem to be on top of things
I think master riflemen should be getting a shot every 2 second, they are the most advanced class in rifles even if it is a bug i think it's justified hehe. 100 meters on the rifle that would be sweet- but does the game even draw that far on the highest settings? Maybe it does i'm not sure i have it highest and it seems to me that the max draw is about 80-90 but i could be wrong
it has happened before ![]()
I for one would want a correspondent that would put that to his/her classes best use and not one thats being service ticketed and forum bombed to death. Thats my opinion though. Glad the correspondent slot is only a monthly title. Bringing your personal game issues to light raises doubt in my mind to your overall loyaties. Looking forward to the next person in line for the title. Do I like you Aldeon as a rep....nope. I have that right.
Ok now all you Aldeon lubbin, fanboy/fangirl, forum trolls, and bandwagoneers can open up the can of flames on me now. I didn't post this and not predict a happy response. I only thought I'd open a few eyes and make people guarded about the correspondent position. Remember we have a new one coming soon, his/her title is only a monthly thing. They are not god.
I feel that issue, is extremely important, and should be hammered as much as possible, if you dont agree thats fine.
