Just so you guys know, they increased the rate of decay with power ups a whole lot if you havnt noticed. I used to use them all the time, but now I will never.
It always used to decay, but it was almost un-noticable, now its fast. Almost 1 point, for every 2 shots.
So I see this scenario for a novice rifleman without much money...
-- Spends all his money on decent rifles (Laser, T21)
-- Goes torun missions for more money. Gets incapped and killed several times.
-- Eventually, rifles decay, must use pistol skills to finish missions, but pistols have decayed too.
-- Must buy cheapest weapons possible (CDEFs) with little remaining money
--Tries to get thru missions with CDEFs
-- Incaps/Dies even more frequently because of poor weapons.CDEFs decay.
-- Finally realises that TKA is ONLY way to go
-- SWG can't figure out where all the TKAs are coming from, decides thatarms will decay and fall off
-- SWG spinoff game "Night of the Living Dead" debuts in January.

I think he speaks correctly there. Got a new Max dmg slice T21 last night 960 condition. I checked it when I logged in this morning and it was 856. I killed for 2 hours (about 8 missions). Powerups (32% max 16% mind) were equipped the whole time. I will do it again tonight with no powerups to check.
/cries over my new 200k rifle.

Again I ask, is this just on Test Center right now, or actually Live? (I haven't noticed a patch come down in last few days).
This can almost make me fricking cry! I've been grinding for months just in the end find out we might get capped at 3 sec. I could live with that, decided to go all they way and check it out no matter what.
But now.. death/incap decay.. and huge powerup decay..

Why should I buy a 30-50k T21 every day? Rifles suck without powerups. The HAM are too high without powerup, the damage is too low.
This just plain sucks!
Forgive my fustration, its just that I do not like watching months of hard work go into hate.
Maybe I'll just go BH/Commando like everyone else, they can't use powerups anyways and don't need to cause they got all the damage they need. Say hello to LLC 1200 dmg one-shot-one-kill hit.

I noticed my sliced/powered up weapons were decaying a lot faster than before, but I would say that one per day is an exaggeration. Probably more like once per afternoon.
No wait, I meant to say once per week/week and a half.
This is a very good example of why games should not be released until all "features" have been tested and implemented. We are all so used to the way things have been, that major changes like this one and the Incap/death decay thing (A deliberate nerf to piss off riflemen, as we are the easiest to kill, and the most frequent to die!
) have such a severe and negative impact.
Way to go SOE, you've saved my college career! I no longer want to play as it is, without these up and coming changes.
So why in the hell would they put in penalties for things like death before they fix the known bugs that cause inadvertent deaths? That is the dumbest crock of **edit** I've ever heard of, and I will be quitting for a minimum of 6 months. I'm tired of coming on the boards to see if anything is fixed only to find out they are going to penalize us for their stupidity. Maybe in 6 months they will have things stabilized.
Until then, I'm going back to EverQuest, I still have 30 levels to gofor my Ranger. I always regretted not finishing him out. (Yeah, I know it's still Sony, but a guy's gotta play something with stability. Plus, my friends all stayed on EQ and no one migrated to SWG, so at least I get to talk with them)
