Thread: Test for Defense vs KD

The logs on this are 26 pages long so I am not going to cut and past, took me 45 min. just to add everything up.


The attacker: TKA, +150 accuracy using Knockdown 1. After each KD we waited over 30 sec. before attempting another KD.


My base Def. vs KD is +70, we did 4 tests with myself holding diffrent weapons so that I can get a idea if the defenses stack.


First test was with no weapon, I have Master TKA (+20 KD def.) 42 Resists 6 Hits = 88% Resist Rate


Secound test was with a 1h sword, I have (+50 KD def) from that 78 Resists 7 Hits = 91% Resist Rate


Third test was with a pike, I have no cert. 15 Resists 4 Hits =79% Resist Rate


Fourth test was with a Rifle, I have Master Rifleman but no KD from it. 54 Resists 4 Hits =93% Resist Rate


I dunno but if I had to guess, the defense stacks.


By the way I did counter-attack twice with my Rifle in my hand so the answer is YES block is borked and showing as counter-attack.

If I was a betting man this is the case for all defense vs <input here>.


Now that all this testing is out of the way it is time for me to go enjoy some PvP. My log posting is done tell the next big patch that effects us.


One thing you guys might get a kick out of. Last night group of Rebs attacked our player city and we took them out without a problem. When I checked my logs a BH attacked me 13 times with eye shot, and missed all 13 times. Actually now that I think about it the 2 guys shooting at me never hit me that fight.

You mean it didn't kill you in 2 hits?


I'm shocked, after reading some of the posts on this board I'm sure there is no way a BH could ever miss you with eyeshot.

I've noticed that too, Silver. Our chances vs. BHs seem to have increased dramatically with the patch. This is a log of an imperial BH who charged me as he stepped out of the Coronet Starport as I was headed towards it. I saw him coming and was able to duck behind a barrier long enough to powerboost. I don't know how much pistol skill in he had, but he was using a scatter pistol and had at least pistol 2 in it, because he hit me with eyeshot when we ran into each other earlier that night.

I've never complained about being a rifleman in my life (ok, except the heavy weapons vs. riflemen = 2.5 damage thing), and if things stay this way, I don't think I ever will. I have another log I almost posted but its just too long where a swordsman/CH and a pistoleer jumped me. I used two head shots on the brawler (he didn't have much of a mindpool, and no helmet) and I switched to my VKs totank his two graulers while I tricked the pistoleer into following me around a corner and I nailed him with some KD 2.


All this ranged/melee defense effectiveness + the increase of melee damage is having me thinking that a ranged/melee combination is the new uber PvP template.

Actually this might prove that block is completely broken. Noules00 did some tests a while back on the pistoleer forum (... and he is a rifleman, ?), the results of these tests showed that a complete non-combat person was getting a base 3% chance of a counterattack. This fits in with the 2 counterattacks in 58 attacks on the rifleman (3.448%)


Maybe we need to join our voices with the pikemen and get block fixed. TKA's defense acuity was also released broken and they are already ready being told by their corespondant that it will be fixed soon.

Yip.. didnt one of the defensive mods get fixed yesterday? - i cant remember which one it was from the patch notes - this could mean that the others are borked also.. might be worth looking into further. Maybe get Klaw to ask the dev as to what block should be doing with regards to defense effect, and actual combat spam window feedback when/if it works?

For me its:


Starwarsgalaxies -> profiles -> Ruekursk (account login name) -> Flurry (my server) -> Rue Kursk_chatlog.txt


To make a log though, you have to type in /log at the console and everything after that until you /log again or logout is saved to the text.


It was posted by the devs that Defense Acuity and Center of Being was fixed for TKAs, but tests have proven that they're both just as broken as when they were put in.
