Thread: Elder trick? If not an exploit, explain to me :)

DO NOT RESPOND IF THIS is an exploit... and please, moderator, delete this if it is.
I have seen people able to keep the elder from attacking them in the Labor POI Cave. Is this using concealshot? I have seen people able to take out the elder completely without her attacking them. I haven't had much luck with concealshot myself, so was wondering how this is done, as I would love to kill elders

Its possible with concealshot, just takes FOREVER... damage modifier on concealshot isn't very high.

How do you take down the elder in the cave? Its hard to kite her there because of the close quarters and sheer number of NS above and below you.
Do you just bring a tank along or what?

I work in the morning.... haven't seen her in months since she's usually dead right after server reset.
Swordsman can solo her, but a rifleman would havea hard time with it. May be possible, but it would be difficult.

Swordsman can't solo Axcava or whatever her name is. She's 100% to blast, kinetic, and electricity (maybe stun too...). Basically she's imune to most every melee damage type. The only way to kill her is ranged, or pikeman with a NSEL (which you have to kill her to get)

No no no, there is an elder that spawns right to theright when you first enter the cave (it branches off to either go down to protectors or to the right where spellweavers generally spawn). She is down the cave a little and you can see her from the "fork". I see people able to kill her, but I tried and got completely pwned because when she aggro's, its hard to run without running into rangers at the entrance or mobs of sentinels. If anyone had experience with this, that would be cool.
Anyone that routinely does this cave as a riflemen, just wondering what tactics you use because I used to do the cave as a TKM, but now im a rifle/doc and wanna start doing it again.

Yep conceal shot does work on elders, but as has been said it takes forever - and you have to deal with them moving around, and take the risk of putting a bleed on her or sometimes she just runs at you even if you dont put a bleed on her - plus elders don't tend to spawn on there own - and if its a protector, Spellweaver or Stalker with her you can't touch them anyway.
My advice for solo'ing an elder - conceal shot as long as possible is she is on her own or with other NS you can damage, when you get agro'drun into spawns of pretty much anything (preferably yellow cons though) wait for them to get the agro off her them move 60m or so out hammering HS3 and just keep doing this. Has worked pretty well for me with a few elders - especially ones from the Stronghold, they seem to become really slow moving when you get a few 100m outside the Stronghold POI. If she is in a group of NS you can't damage them pull her wit ha bleed and then just do the above.
Riflemen close up with an Elder tend to die, even with good medic skills you end up Dizzy KD most of the time and when she stacks bleeds on you you spend so much time healing you can't attack her.

Thanks man. What about the NS cave? Or do you guys generally go to stronghold instead because of the close quarters, etc?

ranged hunting areas are better for rifleman,easier to kite. the caves are a bit to close range for me so I prefer to have a tank with me but it is doable without.

Force Labour Camp is ok - just watchout out for the Stalkers at the end, and the Elder tends to have a Spellweaver or Protector with her.
Everything else in there is pretty easy, its just the Dizzy KD thats the killer specially when you got 3 NS over you.
Personally I do prefer the stronghold though - easier to kite as has been said and easy to do the Bleed and draw method or SS2\FS2 into the groups without agro'ing everything.

Elder is well elder and yes u can solo it with conceal shot if u are lucky and u dont miss and dont stick a blead on her if other 2 happen well than u just use burst when u have to and kite with SS2

I beg to differ... you're thinking of the Spider Clan elder....

while concealshot works without it, you may find it useful to /takecover and shoot while in cover
