Do we know for sure? Has it been proven somehow that Mindshot1 and Mindshot 2 will stack the bleeding effect on a mob. I can't see much difference ingame but i cannot be sure. I use quite a bit of HAM while attacking and would like to know they extra attack is worth it?

Yes they do stack. When you use one bleedattack take note of the damage number. Fire your second bleed and take note of that damage number. Now after a few moments, you'll notice those same damage number floating above the mobs head at certain intervals along with a chunk of their minds HAM being taken away.

Add in a couple of headshots and you got yourself one dead mob, real quick.

The initial damage you see in the combat window will be the DOT damage the target suffers starting 20 seconds after you lay on the shots and happening every 20 seconds after that. So if you hit for 100 and 190 with the two shots every 20 seconds it will lose 190 points out of the mind pool until it dies, or heals (couple minutes) or a player applies first aid at least once per mindshot.

Only use it on targets that are going to be alive at least 20 secondsafter you first shoot at them or it's a waste of HAM and combat time. It does no damage upfront, just over time.

Any bleeding shot can also be a save-you-butt shot in that if you are engaging something that will DB you, ex Desert Demon, and you are going to lose the fight while you're running away, try to apply a bleed. Often it can take more than 20 seconds for the enemy to walk to you and if he's low on mind after your battle he may keel over before the DB.

Here are the facts on Mindshots:

-- When you first hit with MS2 or MS1, no damage is initially done.
The damage does not come until the bleeds begin 20 seconds later.
-- They do not add together, they work independently, but at same time

Example with an imaginary time:
00 seconds: You fire MS2 and hit for 900
04 seconds:Four seconds later you fire MS1 and hit for 400
-- At this point there is NO damage to the HAM bars of your target
20 seconds: First MS2 bleed occurs, -900 appears over targets head, Mind bar dips.
24 seconds: First MS1 bleed occurs, -400 appears over targets head, Mind bar dips.
40 seconds: Second MS2, -900
44 seconds: Second MS1, -400
etc.

Mindshots by themselves will kill BUT you will not get any XP unless you also hit the target with some other rifle shot. Headshot, Warning shot, normal attack, etc., will all guarantee that you get your XP.
If the target dies more than 70 or so meters away from you, you may not get XP. I've gotten XP as far away as 78m before, but I dont think it's consistent.

Incedintally, if the target blocks or dodges, the bleed will still stick, at the value given during the message block.

Does anyone know what multipliers, if any, are applied to the mind shots? It looks like 2x and 2.5x, but you can't really know unless you know the base damage. Or if someone tells you

I heard once that the bleeds negate armor and resistances is this true?

Would a T21 be just as good asa DLT in this case?

Mind shots ignore armor,ap and resist. I personally use my laser for 2 prone mind shots (on mobs), then switch to t21 for normal shots.

Not sure on multiplier. The biggest mind shot I have landed has been in the 2k range (just over). My Laser is about 650 max 100 min or there abouts with a 5.7 speed.

Oh, and no, a spray gun would not be as good as a laser (or high damage gun) as the shot does work off the base damage of your weapon.

trolling pistoleer rifle-wannabee here:

i concur with hafoc, all bleeds in the game stack. with pistol and bh i can stack healthshot1,healtshot2,bleedingshot. Takes 3- 6 first aids to plug them back up again.

I don't know if anyone else can concur on this, but I find that if my target keels over on a bleed instead of me adding the final touch with a normal shot, I always get the 'you do not have permission to access this corpse' message.

Wayne... thank you SO much for the info on XP and bleeding shots. I've been completely bewildered by the inconsistent behavior of XP rewards when doing my bleeds (yes I'm still a young rifleman)... I'd come close to figuring it out--sorta--but it's nice to have a more definitive answer. Strangely, or maybe not, I believe I bled a mob to death, did no other dmg with rifle but got off a couple of pot shots with my pistol and received 100% PISTOL xp for the kill.

Is that correct? What happens if you do SOME rifle dmg and SOME pistol dmg? Do you get xp based on what weapon does normal dmg FIRST? Or last? Or does the MOST non-bleed dmg before mob dies?

Sheesh, what a system...

In my experience as a rifleman/swordsman I noticed that the bleed gives xp to the weapon you are currently using. For example if you do mindshot and then rush in and engage the mob with the melee weapon before the actual damage from the bleed has begun you will get all xp with the melee weapon, even from the bleed damage.

You get damage based on the amount of damage done, and bleeds don't count. So if you bleed then melee, you get XP based on how much damage you did in melee. If you bleed a mob to 1 mind then shoot its last point, you will get hardly anything. If you do damage with both the rifle and melee, you will get XP for both, and it wont be the same amount, because you did different amounts of damage with each weapon.
