Thread: CU: Are all riflemen going TKA or commando? (but re:fencer)

From the looks of the threads I've been reading it seems that most logical prof to put with rifles would be:

commando - for highest offensive output

TKA - for better defense balance


I'm a Rifle/Fencer now - Fencer seems to be the DOT guy now with poor defenses and fairly high offensive abilities. This combo doesn't make much sense to me. As a rifleman with weak defenses, it doesn't seem likely I'd be able to get in close enough to use fencer capabilities. Conversely as a fencer, switching to rifles in close range sounds like certain death.


I know this is all speculation until elite proffs get added to TC5 but any thoughts?

I am waiting to see if anything will be done to ungimp Rangers first.

I've already dropped Ranger due to reading that they are capped at 1k HAM as they're not going to be considered a Combat profession. But would use the respec to go back if they fixed it.

Same reason I'm giving serious consideration to Rifle / Ranger, assuming they find a way for /cover to stack with /camo and /mask... I'd rather have a nice custom rig of para and duster for each environment - really "look the part" of a sniper - and evade detection rather than rely on the damage mitigation of armour. One interesting option though will be to mix and mathc armour types, combine them with clothes... basically use armour as another kind of clothing element. Might be worthwhile for some people, as long as they aren't wholly dependent on armour for protection.



(***EDIT: Barring a ranger blend, though, I'd seriosuly consider M Rifles M Pistols... the defences are pretty darn good, but I've yet to get a solid sense of how much melee and ranged defence will benefit you in PVP, so we'll see. ***)

Im doing MRiflefish and MCommando, I want to try out some serious 'nuking'.

I will take Master Marksman too, not sure why though?

I'm a Master Rifleman/Master Teras Kasi right now in live. I plan on keeping it and dropping all my med skills to pick up Master Brawler on the respec.

master marksman does have some nice mods in it now. - not really enough yet to justify the cost but definitely better then it was before.

Well, if you already have mrifles/mcommando/pistols 0030 it really isn't that many more SPs then just 4404

I've heard a lot of talk about Rifle/BH with commando or pistoleer thrown in. Dunno how effective it will be yet.

Same here, I'm pikeman/rifleman on live and I plan on staying the same for the CU, although, commando is quite tempting.
