I'm a rebel, but don't judge me too harshly.

So I go to the imperial military outpost on Talus, fully aware of the dangers.I pull stormtroopers away from the herd, then finish them off, one on one. I see a blue dot approach me on the radar. Blue, so I pay no mind. All of a sudden, the dot turns red, and I am engulfed in flame for 3.5k damage. This is, mind you PvP. I spawn and repeat the process, and once again the guy show up and kills me with one shot from 60 meters. The third time out I finally get a shot off with my pre-nerf T-21. 250 damage. That was a mindshot two, whichI was previously lead to believe was powerfull.

What's going on here? This isn't right. Didn't the Devs nerf Rifleman up the ying-yang so there would be no one-shot PvP? To quote some guy, "whatahell?!?"

P.S. I later tracked the guy down and finished off his bleeding mind. Though that was after he killed me a fiew *cough*ten*cough* more times.

This is because of heavy weapons being classified as melee damage. I figure they did this in order to limit the specials ranges, but what it translates into is that you get hit by an already-hard hitting heavy weapon for 250% of list. The combat developer at first said they were "working as intended." I think later on he begrudgingly said he might reclassify them as ranged in the next big update. :/

Good point. Still, his 3.5k attack, without the 2.5 times meelee damage is still 1.4k pvp. That's enough to send me streight to incap.

What gets me is that you said he oneshot you with a flamethrower FROM 60 METERS. I thought those weapons were supposed to be close range only? Time to make Commandos "horribly inaccurate" at range.

Commandos have about as crappy hit miss ratio as rifleman until they hit master commando

I dont understand how a Flamethrower can be more accurate at 60 meters than a Rifle though its boggaling

I am pretty sure they can not use specials at 60 meters. It still does melee damage at that range at a very reasonable speed. So it does close to 500 damage a hit with the default attack on a rifleman. The commandos see this as a bug, and I am pretty sure the devs do as well, hopefully they will fix this fast.

Your screwed because of 2 things

1) Commando dmg is considered melee dmg so that they do 2.5 times dmg to us.

2) IMO TEF exploit.

IF an imp can target you, then you should be able to target him, its only fair... TEF should make you overt for the 10 the flag lasts but without the ability to call a faction pet, need to be truely overt to do that. Problem solved....

When they said they didn't want 1 shot kills they meant "except commandos and bounty hunters".

BH can do the same thing with their LLC.

3.5k x .25 is not 1.4k

lol, no, but 3.500 (actual pvp damage) / 2.5 (melee damage mod) is 1.400.

Hey, commando here dropping by, hi guys:

1) Our specials are 16 m only, and they don't even hit for 3.5k on PVP, except against rifleman, because as many said in the thread, there is a 2.5dmg modifier (the fix is coming, they don't said they might do it, they said they would do it. Notice I said fix, not nerf, because on the contrary to what people are saying, commandoes are actually encouraginf the fix.)

2) remove it, you got hit for 1.4 k. Now, commandoes, by definition, are a fearsome fighting profession, so you don't go facing them unprepared. We hit slow, we have no defense mod, and nothing else beside of commando because it takes up too much skill points.......so, you face a commando, you basically:

a) wear the best armor you can, composite with 50% heat resist are common. so, 1,400 / 2 (resist)= 700 / 2 (armor AR 1 vs Flamer AP 0 ) = 350.

Now, 350 is not that bad of a hit, but if you get to find a PSG to wear over that, you can drop that hit to around 250-275, which is very reasonnable.

b) Don't go prone, kneel, the same bug that makes the 2.5 modifier against rifle makes us do 2x dmg to prone people. That why commandoes are doing 15k dmg to a prone rifle holding NPC.

c) If you have the leisure, use doc buffs or neutron pixie, it will help you a ton.

Correctly geared, if you dont let the commando get close, you will stand a very good chance of beating us. Now, I know rifleman needs a lot of tweaking ( I was one for a while), but I hope those couple of tips will help you when you meet your next commando, so he can see the cloning center repeatedly, and not you.

Good day..............
