Thread: Rifleman NERF??? Details please!
Just rumors now.
Get used to it. The best way to do that is to be a Droid engineer. I saw probots get nerfed 3 times before I gave up. Just to let you know, the combat probot droid in the droid invasion rollout was really a nerf also. Probot gottwice the ham, but their medium armor with 40% resists went to no armor with 20% resists.
Hmmmm....lets see which is better, yeah let me think.

It's all rumor and that TH quote was months old not weeks.
What I heard recently is that a speed cap was discussed and rejected because it would weaken rifles way too much. I got this information out of a quote from the pistoleer coresspondent when he was discussing the Dual weild ability. Someone suggested that dual weilding pistols should have a capped speed and Randob said that- Paraphrse //A speed cap was discussed for rifles and rejected because of the way accuracy works, if a speed cap won't work for rifles then it won't work for our dual weild either. // End Paraphrase
Well this is my last profession and I must say that it is the slowest and most boring class yet. Hopefully when I hit master things will be better but if this game nerfs one more flucking thing I am done, I quit.
this is the second ranged prof I try (first is pistoleer), the funniest in terms of gameplay/tactics, the quickest to level (I'm not a grinder and made 3143 in like 1 week, to compare it took me 1 month for fencer, 3 months for CH, started 2 weeks before patch 5, over 1 month for pistoleer and I'm not even close to master etc...) now I just got a cool dxr6b and getting like 170k/200k xp for one hour, one hour and half, grouping and killing either voritor hunters or enraged rancors (both give around 4.7k xp/kill), leveling that tree is incredibly fast ! specially if you don't grind it (I understand that using /conceal shot on quenckers to level the whole tree is not the best idea lol)
about PvP, I don't mind the changes, I don't PvP that much, and I HATE duels, I think in a faction raid or something, rifles will still be usefull.
about PvE, it's one of the most fun profs I ever did (with fencer) cause of the whole tactical aspect.
so wait and see, if we get nerfed, then fine, I'll go for something else, plain and simple.
Anyone who keep sn open mind can see that we will get nerfed. The only questoin is how.I personaly feel the devs are WAY WAY to lazy to put in differant speed caps cause that is alot of work. However i can see a reduction to 80 speed insted of 90 whch will be about the same as a 3sec cap for the vast majority of riflemen or a revival of the 2.5x damage mod or some variation. Posibly both.
ATM Rifleman is far superior to any class in damage output and still get workable defences. run you some DPS numbers and assuming no armor we do double the damage of our closest ranged rival (pistoleer in that senario) and assuming the other extream of a krayt we do 8-9 times the DPS of a carbineer and 3-3.5 times the damage of a carbineering BH.
I was out hunting dragons the other day with my alt and my 2 cats and a group of 11 yes thats right 11 people stroled by and tried to gank the one i had just started my dance with (controing the cats, healing them with ranged stims, healing mind one at a time with tricks, keeping all stats diseased and which ever one i was working poisoned) I just switched to SS2 and outdamage the group of 2 non-master rifleman, 3 pistoleers,2 commandos, and 3 BHS along with there doc.
Admitidly I have speed tapes and a nice gun that i save for those situations but still thats just alittle silly.
Rumor i heard, now don't quote this as it is just a rumor i heard, but the rumor is that rifleman and swordsman will be losing their ability to target the mind pool of the HAM bar in PvP only. Which when you really think about it, isn't an entirely bad idea. Personally, I think no one should be able to target the mind pool in PvP, unless the devs give us a quick easy way to regenerate it - other than the Combat Medics Mind Heal. As for any other NERF's the dev's may have specifically planned for Rifleman, I haven't heard of any. Although I have heard that PvP combat is in for a MASSIVE NERF!!!! Hope it helps guys.

You (a master of any other class) go around dueling rifleman who are also unbuffed, not on spices, no food, etc. They'll kill themselves faster then they can kill you. No one seems to remember the major major weakness of rifleman is that you require massive boosts to your stats to keep from killing yourself.
I guess when you're nerf crying you only remember what you want.
