Greetings,

I guess I will posting a bit more here nowadays but i dont really post much anyways.

What Rifle Do you Suggest I use (im only Novice Rifleman) (yes we have T21's on Flurry Server but I have a weak Mind)

What do you suggest about my weak Mind? (take spices stat migrate etc.)?

List the rifles that I should always keep on my at all times and what I should look for in an oponent to which rifle i choose?

With weak blue stats, you are going to be hurting. I would stock up on +mind cost powerups. I use +30%max dmg and +15%mind costs on mine and I am a human with max mind stats. Gets the T21 down to 101 per HS2.

Migrate as much as you can to the blue bars, and if needed, use food/drink with willpower for a faster regen.

If you intend on continuing as a rifleman.. boost up your mind as much as you can. And even then it's a good idea having spices or food for the intense and important battles. As for rifle.. try out different combos. I say the laser is the best allround at the moment.. but it does drain a lot of mind (about as much as a T21 as it fires faster). Always a good idea to keep a low ham fast firing rifle with you.. and maybe a T21 for mind bleeds. (you don't want a 50damage mind bleed which you can sometimes get with the laser)

If you do not want to migrate your mind stats to max (which I suggest you do) I would choose a nice DLT20a (Made by a master weaponsmith) Buy a couple and get it sliced for 30% damage and use a 33% max dmg and 16% mind powerup.

I have a DLT20a which is 154-328 (30% dmg slice + 33% dmg powerup) and 21 mind special ability cost.

Should do the trick.

BountySeron beat me to it...

Buy a nice DLT20A rifle. Unfortunately you don't have a choice between slicing for damage and slicing for speed... it's all in the roll of the dice. Also unfortunately you get speed slices about 3x more often than damage slices. (I got lucky and got my DLT20A sliced for damage, but most of my other rifles sliced for speed). The HAM costs of the DLT20a are low enough that you can fire special shots without worrying about losing your mind, usually.

Strategy:
-- The first box you should get in rifle tree isSniping I, so you get Mindshot2.
-- Mindshot2 and Mindshot1 work together, so use both on a MOB (they "stack").
-- Save the concealment line for last.
-- Max your mind stats.
-- You do not HAVE to use mind enhancing drugs to be successful, but they can help.
-- Crates of Weapon Power-ups are relatively cheap.Buy them and Use them.
-- Go buy Novice Medic for 100 credits if you dont have it already, then...
-- Always keep lots of decent Stim B's in your inventory (heal for 200+)
-- Use the following basic attack sequence on any one MOB.
1. Equipstrongest rifle (T21 or Laser):
- prone at 60m... MS2... MS1... (if either miss, fire again)
2. Immediately switch to DLT20A after mindshots.
- If MOB is not yet charging, fire HS2 to assure XP
- If MOB is still not charging yet, fire Flurry shot to make target dizzy
3. When MOB starts charging (still using dlt20a)
- Immediately Clear combat window and fire Warning shots
-Stand up.
- If warning shots work, its up to you how to finish him off
4. If warning shots don't stick and a MOB gets to you...
- Immediately switch to Scout Blaster (pistol)
- Fire Warning Shots point blank to try and get MOB moving away

Tidbits of Advice that WILL save your life:
-- Always switch to pistol (preferably a good Scout Blaster) when MOB gets to you.
-- Create and hot-key a macro that clears the combat window and heals your HA bars
( I think the command is like "/tenddamage self" or /healdamage, not sure)
-- Never try to outrun a MOB that is faster than you. Running and shooting makes your accuracy plummet and you aren't accomplishing anything. It's better to stand toe-to-toe and fire warning shots hoping the beast will run the other way instead of you running the other way.

Another suggestion. Get a spray stick. Use Wayne's suggestion about warning shot. Use the spray stick for it. This guarantees rifle XP as the creature bleeds out. Also it is a fast firing rifle (about as fast as a pistol) and it's short range <30m. If the MOB gets within melee range then switch to the pistol. This is to avoid the 2.5X damage penalty for using a rifle. Warning shot it so it moves aways and then switch back to spray stick. I don't recommend doing any specials with the spray stick other than warning shot. Just let it autoattack. You are just trying to keep it away as the bleeds go to work on it.

I use three weapons. A laser rifle, spray stick, and FWG5 (pistol). They have worked well for me so far.

The T21 is a great weapon, but can eat your mind fast. I would only use it consistently if I use muon gold, or if I am only after one or two targets. Otherwise, in my humble opinion, the DLT20A is an absolutenecessity, and here's why I see it that way:

-- Since I am usually taking out lairs, this means I will normally be killing at least nine animals, usually three at a time (initial attack + two spawns).
-- Like most riflemen, I hate sitting on my butt waiting for my mind to heal.
-- If I start with a full mind and just use my T21 only for the two initial mindshots and then switch to the dlt20a for the finish up, I usually use only about ONE THIRD of my mind per animal. (Obviously varies per fight... may use one/fourth, may use three/fourths in a bad fight).
-- If MOBs get to me, and hit my mind, then the scenario is usually at it's worst. If your HA bars get low, that is when you hit the heal macro to clear the combat window, peace, and heal yourself. This takes more mind away from the attack pool.
-- But if things go well, I only have to let it heal for just a few seconds (not back to full) and then take out the second animal.Same for third animal. Many times I can take out any one of the three spawns with very little mind rest and no muon gold.
-- Now between spawns I usually have to rest, but usually not full bar

Variables to consider:
-- I am twi'lek and so have maxed my Mind stats out at 1050/500/500
-- If you have more mind than this, your strategy should change accordingly.
-- Other rifles, such as E11, also have lower HAM costs than T21 and fire faster than DLT20A.

Again... just tips from someone who has soloed all the way to 4/2/3/3 rifleman. I thought I had learned it all long ago, but I find I still adjust and tinker with my attack strategy. That's what makes this profession so much fun! Good hunting....

WayneInAustin.....

Very interesting take on things, I really didn't think that deep into things until I read that part of the post. I see now how the DLT20a is the best headshot gun. But now I have a problem, how do I fit all these weapon change macros and different firing macros in my hot-keys.... I need the prone, stand kneel, I need my heals, poisons, heal me... **edit** ti, why can't there be an alt+key third row(I know it can't work)....

You can bind commands and macros to other keyboard keys. (you have to set chat start to a keystroke as well)

All my posture changes are on keys. Likewise pet commands, and macros for armor and Pane changes. This leaves the hotkeys free for special attacks, weapons, stims and so on.

I have one pane set for rifle combat and another for sword. Any common items (attack, peace, stim, weapon/armor change) are always on the same key. As part of the macro to equip a different type of weaopn also take me to that weapon's combat Pane.

If you have the cash, buy as much CAF and Ryshcate food as you can... buy crates of them if possible.. this will boost up your focus and as slow as you'll be firing that rifle at the start your mind should become close to a non issue if you eat enough of that stuff.. if you can't afford to buy crates of it expect quite a bit of downtime Make sure to get a good pet, a mountain krevol or rock beetle.. train scout and level up to Novice CH, and have aCH train a gronda for you (50% kinetic resist, 5500 ham tortur won't hurt it much).. in the rifleman tree you will want to head straight for flushing shot 2 for the AE effect. At this point go to kill tortur at the imperial base on talus. Send your gronda in to attack each tortur, then blast out flushing shot 2's.. you should be able to clear a lair in about5 minutes or so for an avg. of around 15-20k exp.. you'll want to get 2 missions close in the same direction, after you've killed all the spawns at one lair, don't kill the lair.. just head to the other mission, kill all the spawns at that lair.. then head back toyour original mission (it should repop) and clear it again. Train the sniper line next, and at the same time train some CH skills.. you'll want to get to 3/2/0/0 at least in CH for the graul mauler pet..find someone on your server selling one.. once you can get that pet head to dathomir and use the same technique on giant baz nitch lairs.. you should be able to getup to 400k rifle xp an hour after you've moved up some in rifleman, maybe 200k an hour once you get there...be sure to buy lots of pet stims. You shouldbe able to get master rifleman in a couple of weeks with relatively casual play with the above formula (I did it in about a month withcasual play, of course i went 2/2/3/2 before i started aeing and using the pet or it would have gone much faster).. If you don't have the credits it will take considerably longer with the time to run back after compleing each missionthatwill more than double the time it takes to level.
