Okay I recently just picked up novice rifleman and has some combat xp banked up so now I am 1/0/0/2 with about 60k xp for the third box. This is how the grind seems for me so far...

*Takes out T-21 rifle*

*'Attacks Qunker*

* Misses with head shot 2*

*Looks at thier stun vulnerability and switchs to his jawa with better range*

*Kneels*

*Spams head shot 2*

*5 Minutes pass*

*Kills the quenker*

*Moves to the seond quenker*

*15 Minutes pass*

*Finishes lair*

It seems its one of the worst grinds in the game.

I know rifles are long range tools but quenkers run up to you and there is no way of stoping them from doing that and I kneel gives me some accuracy but still takes long to kill.

I was wandering how much the speed tree makes a diffrence in this. I am also a TKM and was wondering if I should bank up combat xp and finsish the speed line(and get that sweet title soldier )or should just continue like this?

Please help

Try going proneinstead of kneeling. This will further improve accuracy as well as giving you a few extra seconds before they attack. The Abilites line is extremely helpful. If you have another profession to help yousave combat xp before continuing Rifleman, do so if you are not satisfied with your current rate of fire.

It can be a pain, it kind of depends on what other professions you have. If you can get combat experience easily with another profession while doing some money runs on Dantooine to get the fourth line up that will help a lot. I did Quenker/Huurton missions on Dantooine simply spamming Point Blank Area 1 on the lair, you can use either the T21 or a Spraystick. Go up the Counter-Sniping tree first until you reach the third box and then use Flurry Shot 2 with a disruptor on the lair with Voritor Tracker missions. That will get you through it in a day or two, but you're going to need someone/something to tank, enough medic to heal yourself, or enough defensive skills from another profession to keep from taking much damage to do that.

Hm...I 've always found the key to grinding Rifleman is: Keeping your Target at Ideal Range, Having Good Accuracy / Speed

With rifleman, your idealrange is so far that accuracy suffers when they rush you.

This being said, I would reccommend using a speed sliced laser rifle when grinding. Why? You can get it sliced down to 3.0speed-3.5 speed with a damage of 400++ max..keep min/maxpowerups on the weapon and your looking at 3.0 540 Max grinding weapon. Buy like 20 crates of powerups and a few weapon repair kits, and about 3 laser rifles (one to use when you shoot the lair, one to use on creatures, and a backup). Also beside the usual Ubese Armor-Kin Comp/ Brandy, use the +40 Accuracy Citros Snowcake (Helps ALOT)

Get concealshot FIRST! This special allows you to stay at max range or ideal range and attack without the creature aggroing and charging you. I've grinded rifleman with no buffs or armor, but all theoptions available today make it really easy.

So, speed and accuracy....well..since speed is awarded off of combat XP, you can grind it at the same time you do accuracy. After you get 0/1/0/0 Rifleman and you have concealshot, Climb the accuracy (sniping) tree.

You can either use Teras Kasi to max combat XP and get the speed tree, or get the experience anyway while you grind your Rifle XP, thechoice is yours.

Once you reach 4/1/0/4 you can either: Use concealshot to finishing grinding to master

or

Switch to going prone at ideal range, taking cover, and using headshot3 2-4 times to kill the creature before it gets to you or other creatures start to aggro you.

Those I feel are the two best ways...ofcourse I have heard you can grab flushingshot2 and use an AoE attack, but I've discovered the creatures practically have to be ontop of eachother to hit them all at the same time, not mention when creatures get on you they are standing 360 degrees all around you...I've never had that much luck using AoE Attacks with ranged professions in the low speed-accuracy stages of grinding.

Omg... I don't believe this...

Just get ConcealShot and then go counter-sniping3 to get flushing2... get yourselfs a tank (either a friend or a pet/droid) and start crushing huurtons or kamurith snappers... I got from 0,1,3,2 to master in like 1+1/2 to 2 buffs... but i had a friend to help me tank.

Flushing 2, Flushing 2, Flushing 2. Once you get x,x,3,x, the xp flows like cheap beer at a frat party. What worked for me is a droid and crates of repair kits and droid batteries. The droid cost me around 30k, and made all the difference for me as a solo player.

Send the droid in to engage a lair, for me it was almost always quenkers. That should provide all the distraction you will need to unleash a few rounds of Flushing Shot 2, your first truly effective AOE attack. Then sit back and watch the message popping up again and again "you have killed a quenker, you have received 3502 rifle experience..you have gained 350 combat xp...."

On the other question, if you can bank enough combat xp to get x,x,x4...Hell yes. Speed kills. Your life will be much easier.

Good luck!

just another less used method for short grind session..pointblankarea and lesser lairs on lower planets like naboo...take em out quick and decent xp...also pbarea gets rid of that nasty short range penatly and does decent damage with a t21

Use that till you get the DXR6b and then get the sniping tree... then use whatever gun you want.
