How are you folk with the new changes? Do you like how your profession has been converted in comparrision to other professions?

Ditto!.. Currently it really blows, The best shots and abilities we have are bugged and hardley ever work. Maybe in a month or two they have the bugs worked out and there NERF bats put away.

I only came to Rifleman with the CU, and yes there are huge major problems, but as it's new for me, I quite like it. That and CM too.

But even the CU as a whole - it's not the apocalypse everyone said it would be. No it's not everything they said it would be, but it's close, and they will (hopefully) get it back up to scratch.

my biggest problem would have to be with our action drain...the regen dont compensate for the amount of drain after a special, which often leaves me getting hammered (being the one getting aggro for dealing the most dmg) waiting for it to powerup enough to get off another shot...

Don't bother me too much. We need a damage boost and we need some bugs fixed but we aint that bad off.

yep i agree with pyscho. for the action we use up our dps isnt much better than carbs.. and we dont get the crowd control they do.

plus our 2 defining specials, sniper and concealshot.. aren't unusable effectively in their current state..

I mean come on... doesnt work unless your on perfectly flat ground and have not moved for the last 2 secs.. and you get 2 concealshots before the mob heads straight to your position? or one if it has mates hanging around?

thats appallingly coding devs... be ashamed.

Frankly, I think it still sucks. Maybe in a month or two it will be "ok".

Dev's: Can we get the SEA mods that do not work replaced with mods that do? Also, while you're at it, make sure to update the loot table by deleting mods for SEA's that are no longer applicable. Thanks.

Not a bit.

The restrictions on /cover (no-one who can 'see' within 30m, and this includes our own speeder!, cover broken if anyone gets inside 20m) means we really struggle to use /concealshot and /snipershot. In my limited experience with the CU, it seems the test for coverup is on it's head: I have a lot more trouble getting under cover against low-level mobs than higher level. I also don't like having to stand and then go prone again before re-trying /cover, that seems a senseless requirement. Forget these concealed moves moves inmulti-player PvP battles, it's not likely you'll have no-one outside 20m for long. I don't know any other combat class thathas such quaifications on their special moves.

That leaves us with headshot (decent damage, but less than carbineer, and a fairly long recast timer) and kneeshot, a snare. Which doesn't really compare with KD (in my opinion KD should be removed from game, it is too powerful) or the roots of other classes.

And we only get recon armour. There are 'special armours' that others can get, such as questing for clone armour, and RIS... we are stuck with ubese/tantel, or Imp scout if you are Imperial. May as well wear wet paper.

I'm pretty sure I'll drop rifle. Pick up carabineer or TKM. Anything else really, because I think rifle is now easily the weakest combat prof, esp for PvP.

Convince me otherwise if you can.

Oh, I'll also point out that /cover + /concealshot /snipershot are also almost useless in groups, yet SOE with the CU have virtually removed solo play against all but trivial opposition.

I've said from a long time back (pre-CU) that rifle deserves better mob control, now with this CU we need it even more. Moreso than carabineers, who now have the best damage shot. Either that or return our T21's tohigh damage.

At lest we should have ranged deathblow returned.

I love my Rifleman Smugglr Combo, it owns for solo play.

I'll assume that Tsimhnori is admitting Rifle by itself is useless... it needs to be combined with another combat prof... stack it in other words.

I'm not willing to give up BE (I was Doc before CU)... the resource hunt/gathering and crafting is one of the few things that have kept me involved in SW:G... certainly the combat system and PvP does not!

I don't care much for the windup bugs and uselessness of cover/conceal in PvE. Those need to be fixed.

Otherwise I like the class. We still get to sneak around with a big gun.

As far as Recon armor and "wet paper" - first of all, pre-CU our defenses were all against ranged attacks. Recon armor is as effective against energy (most ranged attacks) as composite is against kinetic. So it's quite appropriate for our class.

Secondly, the "wet paper" is completely wrong. Although Recon armor is capped in how low you can get the energy resist (and therefore how high the kinetic), my armorsmith has gotten recon almost to a 7000:1000 kinetic:energy ratio. Which is BETTER than standard battle armor.

None of the three armor types (recon/battle/assault) is inherently better than the others unless you want 100% against a single damage type. The total amount of protection is the same. So don't fret about recon armor, get it crafted the way you like, short of 100% kinetic.

Well as a hybrid character who doesn't get the 3K health bonus I have to say I still love Master Rifles. Yes it's annoying that some of our attacks are bugged and on some days it's much more than just annoying, but I'm still very much enjoying the profession. But then I was never very big on solo hunting and from what I've seen any hybrid character who was is probably going to have to drop their non-combat profession in order to continue going solo.
