Heyas. I'm 4-1-1-3 in rifleman going for master and I use (Or try to use ) conceal shot a lot to grind through the XP by going after big game like Faamba and Bolle's on Naboo. The problems I'm having are 2 fold.
1) My damage is spread evenly among ALL the stats. Even mind. So on a critter with 3K ham a stat, I usually wind up doing about 7300 damage to kill it.
2)I have a +95 to conceal. Yet I ALWAYS get detected within 5 shots. Always. Then Get attacked. Then I have to fall back to my other profession (Commando) to save my butt from being chewed up.

If anyone can give me some help, I'd appreciate it. I'm still learning about Rifleman, and any pointers or tips would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I'm noticing a lot of people unhappy about Publish 8. But I cant seem to find out why. Whats up with Publish 8? Are they re-nerfing rifles?

Bleeds will cause the agro. Also don't let them wander too close. I find at 45m or so more agressive animals will detect you. Don't let the chance to hit get too low either. I use different rifles to keep the to hit ratio high.

Last , but not least, Mask Smell can be your friend.

1. Get to x x 3 x quicker!!... you're all over the place.. x x 3 x is your goal.. once you get that, life is easier.

2.Make sure you stay in a range where your rifle has a +50 to hit...

3. The damage being spread out is a draw back to conceal shot.. this is why I don't use the shot... it's very very very boring!!!.. You got enough speed now.. just buff and use HS3, you should be much quicker in getting xp that way... and head for x x 3 x... did I mention that already?

Ive tried hunting aggro stuff on advanced planets. The moment I get in rifle range, they attack me. Mask fails, and bam, I got nasty critters chewing on my head. Also, heres a new trick Ive noticed animals have. They focus on one stat! Usually the weakest! I'll prone, conceal shoot a bolle a few times, then it will inevitably aggro (Along with the rest of the nest) and they all come over, and as one, Hit me in ONE STAT and incap me in one hit. or if theres only one bolle, it will just hit me in that one stat repeatedly. I'm close to giving up on rifle. My specials dont work, the leveling is nearly impossible because of this, and my bonuses from skill advancement mean diddly squat. I'm just as bad a rifleman now as I was at novice. I hit just as often, and in PvP my damage is half that of other riflemen. I HS3 someone, and I do minimum damage every time, and thats on the rare occasion I actually hit. I've submitted half a dozen various bug reports about the various bugs Ive had with rifleman, but, like happened with commando and the bugs I had with that, none are being addressed.

it is best to do a forum search and maybe check the top ten threads in a forum and read the stickies first ^_^ this is addressed in all of these. Conceal and cover are bugged ^_^. (check tthe bug thread first when you have troubles with something - if it is new I need to know about it - if it is old you need to know about it!)

You have to be prone to use cover and concealshot:

/prone /cover /concealshot

This is false. I group all the time and cover snipe, you must put some space (im guessing at least 20m) between you and your groupmates though, as well as npcs and such.

this is correct - it will work at range even when grouped

though the skill is still bugged (or maybe flawed is a better word for it...)
