Thread: Noob Rifleman question

I've got a second account where I'm going Ranger/Rifleman. I'm looking at the skill boxes and wondering if I really should go Master Rifleman. I will mostly be a hunter, so I'm not sure if the Counter-Sniping Tree is worth it to me.

Any thoughts? Should I save these skill points for something else?

Thanks in advance.

Get Master Rifleman. Counter-Sniping has an AoE attack. Also when you Master you will get StrafeShot2 which is another AoE attack. You will also be hitting fast and hard. Using those abilities I can clear out a Piket lair in less than five minutes. Which means lots of hides, meats, bone for your Ranger side to pick clean.

Actually, if you are going to be doing hunting, Countersniping is very important. Flushingshot2 is area effect and stun. It is also the second highest damage shot in the rifleman tree (4x damage modifier) and, because it has a lower delay, actually does more damage per second (DPS) than Strafeshot2 until you hit the speed cap.

Actually, if you will read these forums, you will find that most people feel that Rifleman is not really profession you want to dabble in. The speed difference between Master and 4 4 4 4 is dramatic. You should go ahead and Master it.

Thanks for your responses. I'll be reading more of the boards now that I'm moving up in the boxes, but it sounds like Master Rifleman will be very useful.

I would like to add a question to the this thread as well ...

I am currently Master Doctor and decided to go Master Rifleman for a change up ... Currently Im 1/x/x/1 ... and so far Im using a combination of Spray Stick, and T-21 ...

The spray stick is faster of course, but my T-21 seems to hit for way more damage using Mind Shot 2, and Head Shot 2

My question is .... is there a recommended rifle to be using by the Master Rifleman community that I am over looking ? and with me using Mind Shot 2 / Head Shot 2 is that the way to go ? or is there some other shot I could be using as well ...

Thx in advance,

Master Rifleman is a perfect complement to Master Ranger as this allows you one of the the most versatile array of weapons with some of the best PvE damage to be dealt. Also, having access to 3 decent area attacks along with the use of conceal shot for the times you need to work down large creatures, you'll have little trouble pulling the resources you need. Something I'd highly suggest is that youpickup Novice Medic so that you can heal your wounds and use stims incase you become overwhelmed by agros.

I'm only a 0/0/3/2 now, but the way I've been getting my xp is with both the T-21 and the spray stick, and using head shot 2. I set my radar at 64m, once I find a lair, go untill I just see the arrow turn into a dot, /prone, with T-21 head shot 2(usualy hit about 4 times) then they ussualy aggro me /stand use spray stick for the up close mods, still with head shot 2. I have that set up on my macro bar in that order. It is the best way I have found to get xp, untill now with flushing shot 2 (which I suggest you get first, it's an area attack which is why proffs like tkm and swordsman go so fast, "spin attack ) I hope this helps, but the biggest tip I can give is go for counter-sniping 3 first over all, remember, with conceal shot, your still just killing one at a time, I do quenkers and kill about 15 of them seconds after the other, and get 2500 xp per kill, vise your conceal shot that does maybe a couple tho more, only one time, then it's another 4 mins before your next. Then go up the sniping tree for the accuracy

Is there a Rifleman attack that brings feign death players out of feign death?

What is that attack?

Flushing shot 1 and 2 have a posture up effect that can break feign death theoretically. startle shot as well has the posture up effect.
