I'm sorry but I just can't take how badly rifleman do in pvp/pve. We have a 2.5x melee penalty, accuracy worste than pistols, a 3.0 speed cap coming up, and some pistols on my server have as good damage as laser rifles with far less speed. People say we are elite because we deal mind damage but that isnt very true. First of all eyeshot is far better than our AOE mind attack and our attacks drain mind instead of action so for rifles in pvp by using a special your practically hurting yourself if you don't hit for like 4k dmg. Pistols will also be better for me because im a doctor and I will be able to rez/heal faster in combat vs. a 5.0 speed laser rifle.

nope im not master but after the speed cap there wont be a point of being one. Don't think all these new mods are going to be good. They are just buttering us up for more nerfs like aldeon said before he left.

If you need to master the profession to even compete with BHs who aren't master yet (and you will always die to eye shot in a straight one one one battle unless theres some fluke, becasue it kills you in 3 shots or even less if you help the BH along by using specials and draining your mind, plus you are blinded so you wont be hitting anything, period)

Whats this talk about having to be best when you are alone.

Rifleman is a support profession, at least in my eyes. When with outher people or with lets say up to four other riflemen we rock. But no no its all pvp, one on one pvp. If rifleman doesnt suit you just leave, one less whiner.

My point is I feel we are jumping to conclusions here that what might be is what positively will be. What is the current status of this new combat system? Has it hit test center? Has it even been confirmed? I think it is very reactionary to get your blood pressure up over something that may never come to pass.

Oh and I would tell anyone quitting rifleman to hold and see what the new rifleman will be like when the changes go live. The bonuses seem not to be changing that much, if at all,from what they were originally reported a few weeks ago since I checked in the last few days.

four other riflemen? How about instead of5 riflemen, 5 BHs. Or 5 CHs with pets. Tell me that wouldn't be a stronger combination. And yes most engagements are one-on-one PvP. A BH runs in to Bestine, I run to engage him.... eyeshot eyeshot eyeshot deathblow. Larger engagements such as raids are not so common compared to smaller ones. But even with the big ones, lol, it just hit me - you'd run out of mind after a few kills.

by a helmet, fool. eyeshot is targetted at the head. a good helmet makes it just another blind attack, which is not overpowering.

and before you look at my Sig and flame me for being a bh, i'm a rifleman on Scylla.

Seriously, spend some time overcoming your class's weaknesses and you will kick ass. you're an idiot if you think just having NOVICE rifleman alone should be enough to make you a PVP god. hell, even Master Rifleman isn't enough to be a solo-pvp god. Master Rifleman and Master Marksman - now that's a good start. or master rifle and TKA.. or master rifle/Doctor.. there's umpteen combinations to make you a force to be reckoned with, but you're stuck in this whiny little loop that is asking the dev's to give us godmode when we pretty much already have it!

yes, i'm master rifle and master marksman. yes, the road was long, and hard (until countersnipe3), yes, i shot slow as all hell and my mind pool drained fast and i couldn't pay someone to die by my hand in PVP. Yes, pistoleers got a crapload more xp when i was novice. yes, BH with Eyeshot can take me down if i play like a retard (no helmet/no mind), yes, pets can take me out if i play like a retard (don't /ex my targets and adjust my tactics accordingly)... at master, when i go out on hunts with my BH, Commando, and pistoleer guild mates, if i want I can get ALL the xp. we go do kunga missions and i don't do any area attacks, i let my jawa rifle autofire. Someone says "hey, lets hurry up and finish these missions so we can go pvp". i open up with Strafe2 with my now poweredup jawa rifle and i own the whole tribe. the novice rifleman and the commando who havent' hunted with me say "what the hell was that?!" master rifle master marskman, baby.

then, we're all done on dantooine and my commando guildmate challenges me to a duel for DB's to get back to star port. we stand, 25m apart. he gets one shot off before he's incapped. wanna know something else funny? seeing as how i'm a human novice doctor, i had 400 health/action and secondaries. he hit me for 160dmg. i hit him 4 times for 400-900. at 25m! he says lets do it again. we drop to 20m, same thing. he gets one shot off. one more time he says, fine, 16m! one shot off again. maybe i was just lucky and it was a fluke, but i've never died to a commando PVP.

i've dueled BH's with scatter pistols and eyeshot at 25m. i put my helmet on, sure, i get blinded, but i still take him to school pretty much every time. i've taken great pains to get my character up to the best possible rifleman it can be, and in my mind, that's a master rifle/master marksman, doctor combo with all stats migrated to mind and buffs when i need'em. so far it works extremely well. i was just master rifle/master mark before, and even then i did very very well pvp.

the point of all this, is you're a whiny little brat. you want to be uber but you don't want to put any work into it. you feel so hard done by that you just cry nerf all day long and want the dev's to fix our already fantastic class. if you don't have fun playing rifleman, maybe you should just pack up and become a bounty hunter.

Roccaca - you're giving up before you even get to the goods. don't be so friggin weak! you want to level quickly and experience master rifle? get countersnipe 3 and a GSP, go to dathomir and own the planet. you will die, but it's so easy to get 100k xp an hour. i don't see what novice rifle complain about. the ONLY hard part is getting to countersnipe3. there are a million threads on the best way to level rifleman. the best mobs to target, the best tactics. there's a whole thread dedicated to the best sidekick professions to support your rifle skills, with incredible amounts of detail into the skill mods you will get.

i say again,what the hell is wrong with you whiny pussies!? no one can out dmg us. you think a commando can? i challenge any commando to a race to take down a krayt dragon. i'd put a 1,000,000 credits on me coming out ahead, by a lot. no one has the diverse dmg we have. we are composite killers! arm that jawa! oh, the dude doesn't have armor!? two-shot him with your powered up T21! weak mind? do i even need to say it? pwned. "uber fwg5" problems? put on that suit of composite, you might take 150 dmg in a duel. awwe, composite takes too much mind? pop a muon gold and enter /godmode. need something a little lighter? get marauder armor and tweak it with other armor bits.

use your imagination, use your brain, overcome the inherent weakness in our class - every class has them,believe it or not, and ours aren't that hard to deal with if you would just think for 5 minutes instead of trying to nerf everyone.

sorry but i strongly disagree with your POV. rifle is incredibly good in PVE probably second best to only commando. rifles have mind bleeds which are second only to commando. rifle fire rate is slow enough that one can control warning shot effects but fast enough to be effective. with properly balanced stats tipped to mind/focus/willpower i almost never run out of mind and only have to sit for about 30 seconds to regen after a very extended battle. i am at 1112 rifle and i like it better than my previous x444 BH weapons. much much much more effective.

it all boils down to technique. as a BH weapons expert i couldnt do crowd control. with still newbie rifle skills i vastly exceed what i was capable of with BH weapons.
