Thread: For our next correspondent
Lets help our next correstpondent (an ourselves) out. Post the top few (two or three) issues you have with rifleman. With this, the correspondent should get a feal for what to put in his first plee to the devs, and generally make things move along faster.
My top issues are:
1) Range. There is a good thread expressing some fair, ballanced thoughts on it here: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=rifleman&message.id=25045
2) The T-21. Specifically the rairity of the T-21 and it's krayt compatability. We don't need a huge increase in abundance, just something to bring the price down to that of, say, a flamethrower or an acid rifle. Also, it is almost impossable to use Krayt tissues ona T-21. That needs to be changed.
3) Our lack of weapons. After Novice Rifleman, we get nothing new. I wouldn't mind seeing an expert sniping rifle with very high DMG and HAM cost, but very slow speed, or something like that.
Please, help the profession out. Post your concerns.
1.) Mob warping. - No need to say anything to a rifleman about this. ![]()
2.) HAM costs. - I have 1100/1100/800 mind stats. I run out of minda lot.
3.) T21. - The fact that Tarq still doesn't have it explains my main problem with it. Far too hard to craft andtoo many resource requirements for the weapon it has become since the unerf, nerf, unerf, nerf.....
1. Warping
2. HAM cost, BUT this has to be done very very carefully. I would much rather them leave this be then screw it up and NERF us some where else to compensate.
3. T21 resorces are just to hard to come by in comparrison to other weapons. IMO the way armor is in game right now we have the best assortment of weapons, Jawa Rifle stun damage, T21 AP3, and Laser AP2, for PvP
1) Warping
2) Ham costs
3) Speed bonus breakdown: I personally would like to see Master Rifleman changed to +15, or maybe even +10 speed, and the others points shuffled down the line a bit. This will help novices out, Yet still give incentive to Master the class; especially given the non-linear nature of speed bonuses. This may be extra inmportant when the speed cap comes down...

Rifleman for life. No pets, no spice.
One thing I didnt mention was accuracy.
With the new patch accuracy for all classes will suffer, the question then will be do some suffer more then others?
Basicly will Rifleman still have a good chance of landing at optimal, if that is not the case then our weapons need to be adjusted. I dont like the idea of giving us a blanket accuracy increase because that would cover all ranges. Where as increasing the bonuses of weapons alows SOE to decide when we would have good accuracy or not. I hope they learned a lesson with the accuracy bonuses of other classes when they use certain specials.
2. Mob Warping, I've died more times to this than to other normal causes of death in PvE, this needs to be fixed
3. Ranged Accuracy, I'm no military genius but usually a pistol isnt supposed to haev as good accuracy as a rifle at 64m out
1. range - Either rifles range should be increased or other guns (pistols, flamethrower) should suck at 50-60m
2. Warping -I understand that mobs were gettin stuck and such but this is far worse
3. Guns - think this is happining in next patch but right now all we can do is energy and stun (well cold also but that sucks)

The T-21, a careful analysis.
The T-21 was designed to be the biggest gun in the game. Originally, that was true. The 150-450 damage and AP3 made it a portable cannon. To compensate for this firepower, the T-21 was given some of the most extreme material requirements and an enormous HAM cost. When the T-21 was nerfed, the material requirements and HAM cost remained. The damage is now less than the laser rifle. The material requiremenst are so extreme, some servers still can't make it. On those that can, the cost to damage ratio make it a poor choice for any Rifleman. If it is purchased, it is used mostly as a status symbol, as proof a player has reached Novice Rifleman. No one uses it in combat. Not for very long, anyway.
The changes,
Riflemen want the T-21. We want a gun that is better than the laser rifle. We want the T-21 to be that gun. We are asking for one of two changes:
1) Return the T-21 damage to it's original level. Considering the damage of the flamethrower and the light lightning cannon, this is not an unreasonable request.
2) Or, lower the material requirements a little and the HAM cost a lot. HAM cost is also an important issue. Lowering the HAM cost of the T-21 below the laser would make the rifle of choice and would solve two issues at once.
The above are suggestions. We don't need both. Either one will do the job. What we want is simple. We want the T-21 to be better than the laser. How that is accomplished isultimately up to the devs.
1. Creature warping
2. Range
3. T21 having as much damage as a pistol..
1) MOB Warping
2) HAM costs
3) The T-21 is a joke, for the materials needed in making it, it should be a much more powerful weapon.
- Fixing the Bug with social (BAF-) creatures, whose friends instantly attack when you shoot at one of them, even when you're laying prone and take cover.
Ok here is my list of probs I see.
1) Either fix warping or kill of the 2.5x melee dmg.
2) Fix Surprise and Conceal shots so they dont make everybody come running at you when you use them.
3) The T21 either needs to be un-nerfed or its HAM costs and resouces for building them need to lowered.
4)Tusken rifle is shooting a bullet not a laser. So the dmg type needs to be fixed.
5) The Spraystick is suposed to be shooting acid yet its energy.
6) Ranged accuracy is a huge problem still. Pistoleers are better at sniping then riflemen are.
7) If they place a 3 sec cap on rifles then we are royally screwed. Yet another nerf that will do nothing but gimp us further. Becoming master would be pointless.
8) Devs still hate us.
