Thread: Rifleman for crystal hunting

Are Rifleman good at killing Jantas/Mokks? I am making a crystal hunter alt and would like to be rifleman since I have never tried it. I am also going to throw in Combat medic, as our guild could use one. I know this combo works well for NS/Krayts, but is it effective on jantas/mokks too?

spd capped swordsman and dont do jants for crystals do eldars/krayts

so rifles suck at getting crystals? I cant really cap speed on swords too well cause im ithorian and dont have mabari belts or bandoliers

A Master rifleman can easily crush a Janta or Mokk, but you are not going to get very good crystals from them. You can hunt NS's and get much better crystals, but you wont be able to do any damage to the Spellweavrs and Protectors. Hope that helps you.

Hunt NS elders with a friend tanking- yuoll get premiums(only thing worth tuning) and with a tank theyre easy

cool thanks! I know that some NS are 100% resist to our damage types...I am curious though... Do these enemies 100% resists drop to 50% also like Elders and such when they get their ass handed to them by someone who can damage them? Just wondering if I go hunting protectors/rangers/spellweavers if my swordsman friend can get them down to 50% health if their resists will drop so i can hurt them. Thanks!

yes when any target is damaged beyond a certain point defences start to drop and damagedone by the attackers increases

Rifleman can hunt and kill very well.


I spent alot of time with the jantas but they althought they do drop alot of crystals they seem to drop coloured ones mostly.


These days for me its either Siths for the loot, or Nightsisters. All of the sisters drop reasonable stuff. If you are CM you will be able to kill them all.


For elders I suggest the following


1) Use a non area shot to drag her away from here friends.


2) Burst run away until you are at about 60m


3) Begin to SS2 or HS3 her to death kiteing as you go.


4) Keep your stims on a hot key macro that also clears your combat queue.


with a good T21 takes about 10 mins to kill one.


Watch out for Protectors, Spell Weavers and Stalkers. You will need to poison these and finish them off (last point) by fist.

So their 100% energy resists dont drop? I thought they did.

the resists start dropping when they reach 50% health.

Rifleman is great for getting crystals, that is if you are speed capped.



Oh and one more thing. Have you guys ever seen those sigs that are lines of text and look like they are a part of the post?

if your crystal hunting unless you have a swords friend dont even think about elders solo if your only combat skill is rifle.


yeah you can conceal shot them but sooner or later that 1point bleed will start and then its force choke and force weaken(which from a elder is really nasty) and she is smacking you about the head and shoulders.


rifles can clean up on jantas but you no longer get the cash from em. your prolly better off hunting meatlumps or ewoks or something for the crystals. they drop the same as janta.


janta crystals have decent chances for the ease of getting em of getting good tunes. my best of a janta poor quality crystal so far is -7fc and +36 damage.

I disagree.. I have tuned -7fc good and quality crystals, and one of my buds has tuned a -8 qualityI belive.
