Thread: Commandos now suffer fromt he 2.5 mod like we do! Does this make anyone else laugh?

God Ive been laughign for a good 10 mins now, I hopped ont he commando's board for funa nd read that they now take the 2.5 melee damage hit like we do! lol ha ha ha! I wanna see them fight it out and 1 shot each other! I think this was the best move SOE has ever made. Cause now they will either have to learn tactics like we have, or there will be less commando's in game. Plus another benefit their precious armor is gunna get eaten up quick! God this makes me laugh! Who else thinks this is way too funny!


They are getting all pissy about it liek, hows that fair? How can we fight high lvl mobs now? Whhaaa whaa whaa lol god this makes me laugh!

I think it kind of sucks personally, why would you want to wish our terrible fate upon another class? Just curious...

this was mentioned by the dev's as a strong possibility when they first increased commando damage. They said that might be giving commando's the rifleman 2.5 melee mod.

I guess it is the same for all "large weapons" now even though it makes no sense at all.




I beg to differ, that makes perfect sense. If you are too encumbered by your two handed weapon to effectivly dodge or duck and you weapon is too heavy to be used to effectily move it around for parrying, this should result in a penalty. Almost any good game I know has a penalty for using a heavy weapon. The only question is if rifles are already belonging into the heavy weapons category.

Don't commandos have to be at close range to use specials? At least if we play our game right, we can avoid having the 2.5x penalty be much of an issue. If a commando has to put themselves near melee range just to be able to pull off a special, only to be rewarded by taking a large damage penalty for their effort, I think I can kinda see their point...

Do we have any less of a point? All PVE is going to be Melee anyway, Ive never even bothered to try and 'kite' something, we have an greater damage radius and they have an greater damage... but we both have big penalty in melee... seems fair to me that they should have an drawback to their great damage.

why would you be happy about this?


if anything they are telling you that the lame @ss 2.5x melee dmg is not going any where.


if anything im upset that they are implementing this on other proffessions cause that means i will have to deal with this if i choose to stay rifleman. id rather them have not done this so we can still say "why do you hate us devs".


now they have a scape goat saying your not the only class

LecheHombre.. true, but that got two sides to it. Yes, riflemen are supposed to stay out of the melee and do the damage from a distance.. but often this is impossible and once at close range we take more damage and can not deal any damage due to our accuracy. Commandos on the other hand do less damage at distance (with flamer, rocket launcher works fine), but close up they are opposed to us able to defend themselves. No one WANTS to get close to a heavy weapon.. while people want to get close to a rifle wielder.

Hey, I've got a silly question.......if you are a rifleman AND a commando, do you take 5.0x? or 6.25x (2.5 * 2.5)?



Yeah yeah, I know the modifier was placed on the weapons and you can only wield one weapon...but if they didnt....like if they screwed it up, could they have put 2.5x on the profession?
