my skills are 1/0/0/0. i have been stuck there for awhile. im not a power grinder, but i play for an hour and maybe get 10K. at my rate ill be a year to master rifleman

how do you level a little faster? whats a good creature (tatooiine or dantooine)that has good xp but wont kill me half the time? i find i can grind for abot an hour and i cant stand it any jmore, but it would be nice to get maybe 20-30K xop for my time so i can feel like im making progress.

Tatooine? Have you tried Bantha? Maybe tank some Giant Beetles? Just a thought. There is some great threads here that could provide you with some detailed break downs.

Here is one that might be of help: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=rifleman&message.id=5500

You could also head to advanced planet and join a hunting group. Lok on my server almost always has one forming up at the starport. The Imp outpost on Daat also almost has one forming up. I am not a dirty rebel so I don't if their outposts have them forming up

I also have found the best of lvl'ing up quickly is joining a group and taking on higher lvl targets. I'm constantly running high lvl and high cash missions with groups out of Wayfar on Tattoine, hitting Fort Tusken, or high lvl missions on Dant. What I normally do is stand around in front of the starport (or in the case of AH, the shuttleport) on the most populous city on that planet (usually theres sev dozen ppl around) and wait for ppl to advertise they are looking for groups to go hunting. Or /yell that you are looking forppl to group and go hunting.

First, to Swiller, all I have to say is LOL. It is nice of you to post advise for all of us 'dirty rebels,' so thanks. But be careful, I hear Vader scans the forums from time to time and may not look kindly on your helping the enemy. On the other hand, you did suggest that he check out the Imp Outpost, so maybe that will get you off the hook.

But regarding his advise, I would agree with him. Get with a group if you can and go after larger creatures than you normally would be able to. The group will help keepthem off of you, and though you are only getting a portion of the XP, you will probablly have more fun so it will not seem like so much like grinding. And you would be amazed at how quickly a large enough group can cut through some big critters.

Hehe, Vader is hiding in the basement of the Emporer's Retreat and the Emporer is hiding in the attic They can't seem to do anything about the Grauls and suchslaughtering the Storm Troopers on there front door. So I don't have to worry, we are all rifleman on this forum after all.

Also I would say don't waste your time on uber critters. Sure its great to kill an anciet rancor solo, but the exp caps at like 4500 per kill and the time it takes to do that you could have killed ten gurks forfive times the exp.

A nice way to get xp is to find someone with a graul or 2, or perhaps a GSP. They use this to tank piket on Dantoine. Very nice xp. Also, get flushing shot 2, your xp will jump.

Tatooine is like a hive of xp. When I reached novice Rifleman I could one shot feral banthas(which by the way are one of the best sources of xp around if you play your cards right.). Some other good sources are faction missions, rontos, other types of banthas, desert squill.

the BEST way is to get into a group, preferably one with a nice TKM or pet tank and head out to Dathomir or Endor and just kill everything in sight.

But with your pets and and the probot, you could easily handle Rogue Faambas and Bolle Bols on Naboo. You should be able to solo just about anything under level 35, provided you can single pull.

Rifle is long slow climb though.. even if you are doing these things we suggest. I pretty much quit worrying about moving up and once I took my mind off of it, I found that I leveled quicker than I thought I was. Its like watching the grass grow. Stop checking your XP boxes every kill and before you know it you will get there.

Im sorry to tell u... everyone on here can tell u where to go to get good xp. I myself like dantooine to hunt on as a rifleman, i find it easier to walk on than dath, lol! But point is... i even have a pet a grual and others and xp is still going slow. ( Opinion) Rifleman is just flat out harder to gain xp in than all the other professions.

And from what i gather by reading these forums and of course my own expirience, is that your not going to see the rewards of the profession till u get higher up or become a master. And i believe that. Because as it is right now i miss alot and my speed is slow. But as u advance nothing but good speed and accuracy bonuses there. So if u can stick it out i think it will be very rewarding.

What also reeeeeally helps with leveling...in my case is I can use traps to slow down the movement of the creature..wich with a speed sliced rifle gets you an extra 3 headshots with no real worries....

Those speed traps also need 3 pieces of metal of somesort, so if you have surveying skills......let a sampling script run whenever you visit the bathroom for a higher calling, go eat.....even maybe when you sleep.

The guyz are right.

Find hunting-groups!

- They will tank your target.
- You will gain XPs faster.
- You will make more money.
- You will have mach fun talking and playing together with them (what is IMO the biggest advantage, especially as you say you are not a powergrinder)

If there is no group or you dont like groups:
Get Concealshot (before it is nerfed/removed), go to Yavin4 and concealshot everything you see.

XP-Cap per Critter is at about 5200 or something like that. Dont waste time on shooting on anything with more than 10k HAM each (cause that seems to be the max for an XP-Cap of 5000).

Go to Rori at the reb outpost.

Take tattered torton missions, use a T21, sic your faction pets on the lair and Use Head Shot 2 on each Tattered Torton.

2 Shots the Torton is dead and you get 1200 XP, do this to level up to 1-0-3-x.

Then go to Dathomir, take mutant Baz nitch missions, sic your pet on the lair, and use flushing 2.

Do this to master and you are done.

Should take you two weeks to master.
