No, not invisible. That's the important part. You could still try and find the person. You could look where the shots were coming from. The sniper just wouldn't be on the radar, and wouldn't be targetable by automatic means. And the devs said a lot of things that didn't end up holding true, they're notorious fibbers. By the by, why do we want to be gunners? It's friggen boring. Carbineers are gunners, pistoleers are gunners too. I want some variety, some uniqueness.

Whats the point of being a sniper if you have to be within 64m to hit something? Anyone else think range should be increased?

Depends on whether rifleman want to be snipers or machine gunners. I'd like to see range at about 80-100m at least, a hard cap on rifles at 3.0 speed, a hard cap on certain attacksthat's higher (ie 5-6 seconds for headshot), eliminate AoE attacks from rifle tree, make cover make you drop off the radar screen and not be targetable with tab or autotarget, and make the accuracy mod (the amount you can mod your accuracy based on range, posture, aim, etc.) cap at 100 or even 150, so T21s are REALLY innacurate at close range. That's sorta how I envisioned rifleman when I was looking at the skill trees...

Yes they should. It's a damn good thing they aren't in the game, because they would just slaughter my grunt spamming SS2 in the front lines.

Guys, we should be able to shoot at things not even showing up on our map.

110m for non-AoE shots sounds great. Combine that with an inability to opperate at close range and you have a rifleman.

The way our max range is set is fine. We're more likemachine gunners than anything else (two of our titles are 'gunner' and 'soldier').

Don't forget that the concealment tree only gives us concealshot, everything else is just the ability to not get wounded as much by attacks which fits in just fine for a machine gunner. Well it does also give us sneak (move when under cover)...but noone takes cover so it is a moot skill.

It's not so much about what is, but what should be... What makes a rifleman any different from a carbineer in playstyle right now? Not much, Riflemen do more damage, carbineers get knockdowns. And there's NO sniper class. Boring as hell.

ummm no
we arent snipers. sniping is not possible in this game as it is now. mmorpg combat is turnbased not realtime. movement is realtime but the actual combat is not based on player skill but on turns and dice rolls. the only way you can even come close to being a sniper is using concealshot on NPC and monsters.
if you want to be a sniper in PVP go play BF:Vietnam.

I usually run around with my radar at 256...and i RARELY see things spawn closer that 100m away.... asking for them to make us able to shoot at somthing 100m away will take an entire spawn system revamp that would cause WAY MORE SERVER LAG AND PROCESOR USE....
So i think being able to shoot somthing at 80m away would probably be doable...
