Everyone is gonna be using there best weapons without any fear of them ever decaying! I myself threw it on my best Jawa and bought crates of powerups to use in PvP. Condition decay was the only thing keeping these exceptional weapons from being used non stop so now whats stopping them?

I totally agree, Joker. I think allowing players to use Anti-decay kits on non-crafted weapons is a TOTALLY BAD idea.

Yeah, like the guy who found the t-21 that did 500-2800 damage without a pup... now place that on it and you have the ultimate killing machine... and it wont ever decay...

believe me - it is a bad thing this kit. I would not mind it as much if the kit decayed instead of the weapon (say give it 1000decay points)

Don't you think the DEV's actually thought of that as well? I mean come on, thats the first thing that almost every person playing thought of when they heard of the anti decay item. I'm sure it'll be addressed in the CURB. And also I'm sure that those who put it on their uber weapon and have that weapon changed in the upgrade (if thats what they do) will whine and cry as normal. As it is now, combat is in limbo till the upgrade and we have no idea what to expect.

Been this way for about a year now so I see no reason for the developers to see fit otherwise.

*shrug* If you arespeaking about player templates, then this is true. At least one isn't necessarily prevented from changing their template to join those few (e.g. stacking, Jedi path, etc.). In the case of the non-decay legendary/exceptional weapons, the dominance of the few is even more narrowed and punctuated.

btw, Veustuh, nice writeup in Wayne's thread.

Hey there - not sure I agree with all the posts here about the anti-decay thing being a bad thing (Hold off on the 1 stars - let me explain ).

First off - not every player has gotten one - some could care less, some will take the miniatures, some will take the large terminals. The combat classes of course will probably take one.

As a M/Rifleman I've got my trusted T21, and I am going to search for an exceptional one to slap into the anti-decay kit. However this means that I can't use it on my other rifles (acid, heat, cold, etc) and there are some creatures out there that Energy doesn't touch so I'll still have to use my regular weapons.

Here's the thing - when the CU comes into play it's going to give us weapons with 3 settings, and 3 types of armour, so in theory there will be no "uber weapon vs uber armour" combat will be more of a fluid thing where a weapon awesome against one armor is weak against another. And, I'm assuming here - but I would imagine that the reason we're seeing new guns is because these guns will have the different settings, where our old uber weapons may only have 1 setting which would make them less effective in the new age so to speak.

So, I'm not to worried for the long term - in the short term however, yeah, we're going to have some unbalanced game play - but as someone pointed out earlier - when haven't we?

Cheers

Dat

Oh, we're in agreement on that--the kits are an obvious advantage to those with the legendary/exceptional weapons...so much so that it is getting difficult to see how the CURB is going to account for this across the board. That is why I said I have a sneaking suspicion that this lop-sided advantage is only temporary. Can they seriously expect to maintain player interest when only a handful of folks on each server are dominating the battlefields?

I certainly don't claim to know anything about this for sure...but then again, they gave us "-1 Uses" on DOT weapons andthen (mostly) took those away, and those weren't as controversial of an issue as this.

The funny thing is, I like the idea of Exceptional loot, even though I have never found any. I think it adds content - maybe just a carrot on a stick to a player like me, LOL. If the CU doesnt address the problem, then I think the best solution would be to have exceptional weapons but have them with very poor condition and unable to be "anti-decay". That way a player could enjoy them for some limited amount of time without ruling the PvP fields forever.

I thought the "self-powering harvester" was a very smart idea. Helps the player, doesn't hurt anyone else. I think the ONLY place we disagree, VG, is in how much thought the devs put into the anti-decay device, lol.

I have to agree with Kylos--the devs and the other powers that be must have known what these kits would be used for and what the likely rammifications would be. All of this just makes me more suspicious that these exceptional and legendary weapons are going to be made less relevant or elimanated altogether (in one way or another) soon enough. From a business standpoint, it simply does not make sense to drive away a majority of the players for the heavy advantage of the few, at least in the long-term.
