Why is strafe shot 2 more preferred over head shot 3? I got as far as head shot 3, and never used strafe shot two, but looking at the description it would seem it isn't all too powerful. Could anyone explain, pelase?
Thanks in advance,

strafeShot2 is very, very powerful. Like was mentioned above, it does hit a random pool (seems to be more concentrated on health) but the damage output that it does is fantastic. If you ever reach the speed cap for Rifleman speed (+97) ... the damage output will be unreal.
What I tend to do is check out the target's HAM and decide what to do from there. For instance, for a Mountain Squill their HAM is a bit high but not by much, so, hitting them with strafeShot2 every second will most likely kill them much quicker for me (this is attacking multiple squills). For a Nightsister Elder, their HAM is incredibly high (300k+) so using strafeShot2 on them will double the time needed to take one down since it'll most likely hit all three pools instead of using headShot3 to focus on one pool. Either or, both are my main attacks and I couldn't live without them.

SS2 has a much higher damage modifier than HS3, 5x instead of 3x. Health is hit about 60% of the time (seen some statistics showing that). That makes both attacks however about the same effective damage on health vs mind. But I still see high level mobs go down faster with SS2 than HS3. I guess the reason is that the higher damage attacks of SS2 (even if they hit another pool) wear down the targets resists faster. However bleeds might make HS3 go faster.
If you are grouped then which attack to choose depends on what the other are using. If it is a swordman using mind attacks then go with HS3 as well. if they are using heath attacks then use SS2. In a cave area attacks are usually a bad idea (I really want a high damage single target random attack for doing health damage).

/agree SS2 is MUCH better. With SS2, I outdamaged a commando, a swordsman, and 2 rifleman using headshot3.One of them got pretty ticked that I stole the loot from them since they were all grouped and I was solo.

The cool thing about SS2 vs Hs3 is that it can hit every MOB in about a30 degree arc. Averaging 2200 Dmg/Sec against a random pool of a single target may not be all that impressive, but hosinghalf a dozentargets spread over an area with 2200 Dmg/Sec EACH... That'll earn you some respect real fast.
Shortly after Imastered & speed cappeda few guildies and I went hunting Kimos. We fell on a small group that rapidly turned into a heard of 7. When they looked back at their combat spam after the fight and saw that I wasdishing out 15k/secAP3 damage (before resists) they stoped telling me that I need to get a real combat profession with some defense, and started guarding me like their lives depended on it.

Strafe shot 2 is way more powerfull that headshot although it does hit a random stat each time and fires in a cone.
so if you are shooting at a lair of gurks u will take the lair out in about 20 - 30 secs if that.

around 80-85% of a commandoes damage does not vount toward lootrights on high end mobvs if they use a flamethrower.

Commandos could very well be the biggest anti-krayters except for the fact that their fire dot does not count toward looting rights. They can lay on 4 dots, switch flamers to a new onelay on four more and then switch to another flamer and do it again for 4 more. (most dots I have every seen by a commando was 12 fire dots.) 15k+ flame ticks on ancients does even them in pretty fast.
One thing we are forgetting here is that it is rude to kill steal - if someone else starts the fight with a group we should be willing to move on rather then kill steal. Just because we can does not mean we should. Otoh - if they try to kill steal from you -GO NUTS and blow em to shreds

Head shot is more powerful against very high level NPC and players, strafe is great against most lairs and group creatures and moderately high NPCs.

With SS2 It seems that I hit Health 3 to 1 over Mind and Action 2 to 1 over mind..
so on avg for every 6 specials Fired I will hit the Health 3 Action 2 Mind 1.
Because of the Dmg Modifer SS2 Will always be More powerful.
The Plus about HS3 is that you are hitting the MIND Everytime.
With SS2 you are hitting the mind 1/6 of the time roughly.
