Thread: i feel for you guys after the CH nerf
its gonan be hard to snipe without a decent pet.
i guess if you master ch and get a half gimpy light armor pet you can get a few shots off
I've found it ironic that for as long as I was a ch and for as much as i used my pets. I haven't called out a battle pet in weeks.
Yes mass harvests for wooly/avian have slowed down, I can't pull in my 15-20k a night like I use to.
However I've found myself asked more and more to group with Hunting Parties and My PA because of Master Rifleman. There are times where I just auto fire because I deal out considerable more damage then other group members. It has been both a combo of PVE/PVP.
best of luck

Spoken like someone who plays a CH, not a Rifleman.
99.9999% of my fights have been fought without a pet to tank for me. I've made it to 3/3/4/3 Rifleman without a pet, so clearly it can't be all that difficult.
The Ubiquitous CH 1/1/0/0 will now only be able to control a level 16 pet. At present, a female roba is an excellent lvl 16 animal companion. At CH 2/2/2/1 I can still keep my GSP ![]()
While I certainly can take out targets sans pet, I like hunting with my GSP. I don't like to group due to guilt over being an xp sponge.
My concern (some may call it cynical expectation :smileyindifferent
will be that all those push-play dabblers will see the changes, blink, shrug their shoulders nd then master the profession, glutting the game with master CHs and doing nothing to lower the numbers of pets running around the servers.
I really don't see the CH nerf as that big a nerf.
1) you can still bring out 3 pets at master CH
2) a 4-4-0-0 CH can call out 36 CL pets
3) They just nerfed the pets everybody uses. So guess what? Gotta find new ones no one ever thought of using.
Not that big a nerf in my book.
When you say "Snipe" are you referring to our concealment tree?
I'm looking forward to not seeing every CH dabbler with a GM.
Pve should be easier since those creatures you encounter will be nerfed also.
I shoot every second and now EVERY creature in the game under dl35 will have no armor. I love it.
Master Rifleman and Creature Handler
conceal shot and know your enemy. otherwise, bleed and flee. If its too tough a target, dont take it on by yourself. I for one think the change has good points to it as it means less dablers but i dont see a reason for weakening the existing pets
i dont know - when i see riflemen in dungeons they only way they stay alive - i.e. keeping aggros off them - is with a pet.
i think most riflemen are going to have to master ch if they want somethign that can take more than on hit before it swarms them.
pve - non dungeons is diffrent but npcs in close quarters is another matter.
i guess it depends if you want to solo or not.
There are only 2 pets I have used in this game since launch. One is a Humaba that was one of the first pets my CH master friend got me, and that is just for better missions and group bonus, the second is Shriner...my mount (and I do wear a fez while riding
). I honestly don't see the point in using a pet. If you can't kill the thing alone then why are you out solo'ing stuff? Use tactics or run like hell but if the creature is gonna kill you 5 times out of 10 then get some friends to head out with you.
The reason that it has taken me this long to get to where I am, even though I play like 30 hours a week,is because I simply enjoy playing the game and talking with friends. When we go to Endor...well Dath now, we spend more time camping and BS'ing then we do killing stuff and to me that is how the game should be played. Now if you want to get a metal chicken and some kitties in order to kill that Krayt then more power to you but, why?
