Thread: T-21 versus Tenloss DXR-6b

Forgive this question if it's been talked to death, but I just returned from a 5 month hiatus from galaxies and saw this new rifle.

If all I do is PvE, is the DXR-6b worth it?

I found one last night that does less max damage than my T-21, with a MUCH higher Mind cost.
Since I'm a ConcealShot whore, that is the main reason I didn't buy it.

What are the thoughts of the experts?

Thanks!

I'm only a 3 day old Master Rifleman but I have both a T21 and a DXR-6b (the T21 is damage sliced and I haven't checked the DXR-6b). In my experience the T21 totally outperformed the DXR-6b but it could be that the other is a higher quality or just that one is sliced and the other is not. To me and I may be wrong, at master the one w/ more damage would be better. I only go hunting w/ a full set of buffs (including mind buffs) anyhow so the HAM cost doesn't bother me much if any. Hope that helps.

You will definately want a dxr6 rifle in your inventory. The Death watch bunker goes much more smoothly if you have an acid rifle, since most of the mobs have 80% plus energy resists, with low acid resists. It will become very useful to you. If you are unwilling to purchase one, try camping the geonosian caves for a dxr6 loot drop. My best to date is a 5.6 190-470 10/20/40 ham version, unsliced. If I can get a damage slice on this puppy, i'll probably use it for as a pvp rifle, but even if not, it does some very nice damage with low ham costs for a rifle.

I would say the DXR is on par with the t-21 if not better. Depends on who you buy it from and the stats as usual... The main thing with the DXR is the damage type... Acid...

I forgot about the different damage type.
After spending an hour fighting energy-resistant Thunes, some acid would have been nice. And I guess who worries about HAM when one is a Smuggler and can whip up some Muon really quick?

Thanks all!

98% of the time in PvP I use the Disruptor, great accuracy, PSGs are vuln to acid, and AP2. The other 2% I whip out the ol' t21 after I stun with the Disruptor, I only do this if I am firmly in control of the situation cause of the weapon switch delay.

In PvE I would use a t21 for high end mobs, and a high damage laser for grinding cash from missions.

The acid damage the dxr deals comes in very usefull in lots of situations in PVE, just as does the energy damage of the T21, have both with you and use them on the appropriate targets.

Definitely need both. There are a number of large creatures and NPC's out there with high energy resists but low resists in other categories. I cant stress the need to have as many damage types in your inventory. I can solo my way to the Acklay with mediocre amor (60% base resist and 80% kinetic) using the DXR-6B but its much tougher with the T21. Reason? Most of the things in the Geo caves are Acid vuln or have low acid resists. Strafeshot2 is your friend there. The same thing occurs in the DWB. Most of the NPC's are vulnerable or have low resists to the traditional bounty hunter weapons which are electricity and ACID. DXR-6B usually has a lower delay as well so if you haven't picked up that +6 in rifle speed attachment you will want that lower delay.

Btw, if you ever do any PvP the dxr-6b is the best rifle you can get to supplement your jawa. High accuracy means landing hits on defense stackers is easier and landing that stun state on them coupled with the high accuracy and accuracy food means that even the highest defense stacker is cannon fodder.....if they dont catch you.

Only rifle a RIfleman can do resonably well against an SBDis a Tenloss. It certainly has it's uses.
