Thread: I love being a ranger.
I left Ranger to explore other professions, and I am back in the fold, I have the exact same feelings about Ranger as you do. Thanks for the post and I will stay being a Ranger for the skills and prestige, the community is a bonus.

Dido. I'm re-mastering Ranger right now, after dropping it and moving around other classes for a short time. There's just something about it that draws you back...
Maybe it's having useless skills that almost nobody else has

I briefly mulled over doing the holo-grind, but thought better of it. I enjoy being a Ranger a great deal. I am staying as well.

Regards,
I have (for giggles) read other forums for bounty hunters etc...and there are a bunch of disorganized visions without cohesion and without clarity.
Gilmith's post, although i respect him for saying it, I disagree wholeheartedly with what he said. The developers have said that they read the posts, and about once every two weeks, for those of you who have been around that long (quite a few) there is a post that re-iterates why one of the community loves being a ranger. and instantly, there is a flood of replies with a story or an opinion of why we love being a ranger.
This counts, and I believe that the devs look at our boards and want to make things better.
Sometimes I think that the Ranger profession is like family....we Rangers can make fun of it, critisize it, and mock it....but the moment someone else does...those are fightin words.
Good Hunting
You go Calc.
Isold all the stuff I was stockpiling to hologrind Chef when I realized:
A: Even with the new changes, Chef would still suck, and;
B: Rangers are fun to be
Anyhow, the path to Ranger was never a "grind". It was fun, even the camping once I realized groups are a hoot. There is nothing in Rangering that isn't fun, and once the bugs are worked out, it will only get better.
So yeah, I like being a Ranger, and will be one for a while yet.
Pistoleer on the other hand - maxed out pistol and combat (900k and 300k in case you want the numbers). Maybe time for a new weapon class.

I think at one time or another all of us has posted about why they love being a ranger. I know I have several times. Oncethreads get to long so we can't see a post about this, somebody else posts their feelings about it. And truthfully I never get tired of reading them or replying to them.
1. The community is here because we are elite. With lack of uber weapons skills we have to use brains, which makes us better than the rest.
2. NRaas. Need I say more?
3. HTFB. Granted some us can't survey for metal, but I can trade for it. Draws a crowd, love the WOW factor.
4. Cammo Kits. Useless for the most part, but I have them, they don't.
5. The aura about being a Master Ranger draws us back when we leave.
6. Intelligent posts aboutour profession. A tiny bit of whining, a tiny bit of the time. But don't we all.
Hi All.
I second all of the above, and would ike to summarize why I enjoy the Ranger Prof.
- Being a rare individual. Lets face it. A lot of the people in this game has used a lot of effort to optimize their character either for combat or for Building. The Ranger fits in none of those categories. I Even find it cool that I actually have to use the NPC trainer to get skills since the search engine tells me that I am the only ranger on Corellia :-)
- Discover the worlds. I have travelled to quite some planets, but not a lot and seen things really worth seeing. All from lush woods, Stonehenge like structures to hidden bases and structures. Once I prided myself setting a camp on one of the highest mountains on Naboo to sit and watch the sunset. The Devs have put a lot of effort in makingplanets with lots of sights, and beeing either a grinder or combat centric character makes you miss alot of the details that are there for you to discover.
- Pact with nature. The way we can hide from dangeroues animals, and actually mingle with DEEP red mobs is quite exciting. Will that /conceal hold or will I have to run for it. Hunting good game and harvest the benefits. CombinedRanger with someCH skills makes even the closeness to the wilderness more rewarding.
- Camps. I just love it when I am out on a regular hunt with a group and the need for a camp comes out and I "whop" out my huge and different camp. I have gotten quite som "Wows" and "Cool" from these situations alone
- Not beeing the toughest guy in the block. Meaning that we have to rely on other tactics to stay alive than brute force.
- Being Differentfrom the majority. This may be just me, but I allways figured that "only dead fish follow the stream"
Thats my 5 cents
