I am not quitting SWG, but I am done responding in the Ranger forum.
It is obvious that many of you don't want to listen to logic. You don't want to admit that you just don't know what the CU holds in store. You won't admit that the devs want to fix injustices to our profession, and you will do anything to show how the devs hate Rangers. If you believe in something hard enough, it just may come true.
Of course, that little tirade goes against everything I have been preaching for the last week, but too bad. Yeah, I am whining...what are you going to do about? my credibilty is already gone.
Believe it or not, I am just as upset, if not MORE upset than a lot of you. I have invested a lot of time in this profession and this game. I just choose to carry myself in a different way, and the tone on these forums lately has made me deviate from my path. I hate being the person I have become, so I am removing myself from the situation. I can not stand what the Ranger forum has become. I may be back someday, but you never know.
I will still do my best to make sure that Rangers don't get screwed. Enjoy your forum. It's only as bad as you let it get. I can still be reached through PMs.
P.S. My departure DOES NOT mean that the devs are removing Ranger from the game.

I for one I'm sorry to see you go.
Edit for self-censorship and getting the same responses as the one leaving states why he is leaving...

Well theres only so much a guy can take. Everyone has a breaking point and only so much crap you can take in a short space of time. I dont blame calc for blowing at times, i would of done the same in his situation and he knows this.

That is sad news. Yes I do disagree with you on some points. But this forum is the only one I can voice my concerns on, I do not even read the TC forums, because well I do not like what it do to my demeanour.
So I guess I under stand why you are doing this, and as soon as the DEV's actuarially release some solid information on the high level game this forum will cool down again.
So long, and have fun, that is what we are all here for after all.

As a Correspondent Calc has never done anything but be a great leader for our community and was always clear and concise about whats going on in our community. After having stepped down from the leadership role I feel he can step on a few toes and say a few things that might be over the top for some. He is free to voice his annoyance and aggravations as much as anyone. Sadly this time of woe in future CU pushes us all over the limit. I am very angry and very upset that the Dev's refuse to even acknowledge us and simply delete threads about our fears and needs as a profession.
Calc, I will miss ya buddy. Dont be a stranger.

See my first in this thread. It describes you to a T. You refuse to see that may have deserved some of the responses you got from me. Ever notice that I was never the only one to jump on you?

As I say in another post. We're all really upset and we're all choosing to deal with it differently.
My first impulse was to launch an assault of snide and explosive posts to point to the issues with which I'm most concerned. After sleeping on things I've decided the best thing for me to do is stay calm in general. Post the truth as I know it, and ask the most basic questions I can.
The devs have a plan for Ranger ... a plan we may or may not like. Flipping out isn't going to change anything ... that's something we learned from the Smuggler community. Those poor folks have been pushed back, pushed sideways, ignored and given more than a few birds. Everytime they flipped out, screamed, cancelled accounts and more only to find out there was nothing they could do.
Calc I applaud you for not jumping to conclusions and not letting the paranoia get to you. I also applaud those like Sick who are outraged at the manner in which Ranger is being handled it is a sign of true dedication.
The worste thing we can do right now is fight with each other.

Calc, don't go
The forum has gotten edgy cause of this CU is all.
You have been the ranger's biggest supporter for the year and a half I have been on this forum.
If anyone deserves to blow up at times, it is you.
Just take a day or two off. Go fishing on naboo and track down a Peko Albatross and sit beneath its wings for a few minutes, always helped to calm me down.
Calc, I have always respected your posts and hope to see many more of them in the near future.
Remember, it isn't a Profession, it is a Lifestyle.

Dariane, the bad thing about arguments is that both parties tend to lose their head. This is not a flame, but you and everyone else on here has lost their cool at one time or another. Chastising someone for doing the same things you have done is wrong if not hypocritical. I don't know Calc, the only things I've seen is on these boards, which I've been reading since before I started playing. On these boards Calc has been a stand up guy and a stand up Corr. To see him go out like this sucks. Not only do we lose one of the few reasonableposters we had left, but we lose a strong voice with the Devs. In no way am I downplaying Owen or JB but three voices are better than two. Its just not right to point out the faults of a good leader in their going away post. Besides, is what he was doing wrong? I dont think so. He was trying to keep us reasonable. And he is right for doing that. You know its easier to attract a fly with honey. What do you think the Devs will think if they come here and see nothing but freaking out and flames? We wont get crap.

Oh... and Calc, I barely dealt with NRaas. You and Owen are my correspondants!
I have nothing but respect for everything you've done for the community and hope that I see you posting again very soon.
With all the changes this profession faces, loosing your experience and insightright now would truly cripple us.
