Read my post on the Scout forum.

Until someone figures out what is going on, I will not be posting.

I think your post was moved here.

I don't really think this is an issue that it is up to JB or Owen to address specifically. Though I think they will certainly pass along your thoughts on the Corr forum. Everyone should just keep posting in the appropriate feedback threads - CONSTRUCTIVELY. Many voicees are better than just two.

ROFL I just want to know when they decided that desert squills went covertly underhanded with a seriously underscored combat rating while mission plain squills and wild bantha have ratings above Giant Canyon Dragons.. haha Umm.. unless a two man group drops the rating of a creature .. hmm.

For a class with tracking and observation skills, so far not very impressive. Go back, look again and think. *waits for penny/cent to drop*

I don't think there's anything to address here.

There are only two types of damage now -- kinetic and energy. Some weapons have slight elemental damage (in addition to only being energy or kinetic dealing), but even if creatures had elemental resists, it wouldn't matter a great deal.

With two types of damage, the only thing I could see changing in the future is the percentage of kinetic or energy resist.

Maybe that already exists but just isn't listed.. but pre-CU resists don't translate to the current system, which I think is why there's nothing to list. The definitely couldn't be converted to CU stats (as 100% energy/kinetic resistant creatures wouldn't be killable)

I might be wrong here, though... I haven't seen any official word on it.

Also, realize that this isn't exactly a scout/ranger issue. Creature resists were always viewable by any player, even without novice scout. No skill points needed to be spent to view that.

Oh and ive already passed thethoughts on 'intel gathering' to the devs. I like to think of rangers as very perceptive and think there is still a place in the game to give certain characters (rangers in this sense) abilities (inate or otherwise) that allow us to better understand who we are fighting in order to adapt best to that enemy.

Basically they know of our concern about this.

I think that there is a big issue. sure some mobs may have for instance 100% resistance to Energy and 80% resistance to kinetic...then they are 70& resistant to all other elemental damages, except say for heat. that way you know that the best weapon will have a kinetic/heat damage, or just heat as an elemental damage if that is all that is available.

Other valuable creature info that i regularly relied upon was wether or not the critter deals Death blows, if it will stalk me, if it is aggressive...

We have skills that grant us creature knowledge, but now that is as redundant as our camps saying that they repel creatures...

Creatures still have resists and this data SHOULD be getting displayed, however the UI is not doing it. This is getting fixed in an update, no idea when though.

I don't like the fact that JB didn't end up as blue glowie.

I also don't like the idea of Owen doing both jobs. Sounds to me like a "consolidation" to me.

Creatures no longer have stats, all they have in the examine window is its name, aggressive level, and whether or not you should attack it.

This upsets me, because now we have more usless skills hogging up valuable skill points.

There was an extremely well written post in the corbantis forums, the poster stated that withthe may 5th deadline approaching fast, the devs did not have the time to look at every single creature and NPC and re-work its stats and convert them over to the CU. so instead the took an aggresive mob, and threw a "wrapping taper" over it, that wrapping paper is what the critter looked like.

But unfortunately, the devs dont like it when people point out there flaws, so they deleted the post.

I am very upset, that i cannot examine creatures, thats one of the things that gave rangers the edge over other combantants while in the wilderness, knowing what weapon will work well and what will not.

But apparantly this game is taking a turn towards PvP, and leaving PvE in the shadows, so us rangers which are primarily PvE, are being left behind once again.

Is Owen lars, and JBmat addressing this issue with the devs? is it a known issue? or is just another thing, that we are going to be forced to accept?
